One prescient sports bettor in Pennsylvania turned $50 into more than $12,000 after winning a 9-leg, multi-sport super parlay wagered at Caesars Sportsbook on Thursday.
The winning wager featured three different sports betting markets, including seven MLB bets, with several games coming down to the wire in nail-biting fashion. Four of the nine legs were plus odds, with the total payout amounting to $12,706.64.

Path to victory
The MLB had several chaotic finishes on Thursday’s slate, which helped this bettor hit the big pay day. The San Francisco Giants were the biggest longshot leg of the nine-game parlay, wagered at +158 moneyline odds. It looked like Pittsburgh was cruising to a multi-run win at home until the 8th inning when Matt Chapman crushed a three-run home run to cut San Francisco’s deficit to one.

Then, two subsequent hits in the 8th inning resulted in two more RBIs, bringing the Giants to a 7-6 lead. The Pirates could not muster any more offense in the final two innings.
The Oakland Athletics were also involved in a wild finish, erasing a 4-0 deficit in the final three innings to tie the game at 4-4. During extra innings, Colorado took the lead twice, but the A’s fought back, including four runs scored in the 11th inning. This second comeback featured a two-run home run and a walk-off run with Oakland’s batter being walked while the bases were loaded.

Arguably the most controversial win came during Baltimore’s 8-6 road win against the Chicago White Sox. In the bottom of the 9th inning, up by two runs, officials called in-field interference on an in-field pop-fly that wound up being caught by the Orioles. This effectively ended the game, with two runners on base for the White Sox. Baltimore’s run line was -145 odds, making this one of the shorter legs in the winning parlay, but it certainly was far from a comfortable win.

The only NBA leg of the parlay, Boston’s -110 moneyline odds, wound up with an easy path to victory, as Boston’s two-point deficit after the first quarter against the Indiana Pacers was quickly erased in the final three quarters. Jaylen Brown hung 40 points on the Pacers en route to a 126-110 win during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
To seal the $50 to $12.7K win for this Pennsylvania sports bettor, the Edmonton Oilers’ +1.5 puck line odds were wagered at -240. The Oilers were held without a goal in the first period, but then scored twice in the first five minutes of the second period to jump out to a 2-0 lead.
Dallas’ late game-tying goal forced double overtime, leading to Edmonton’s star center, Connor McDavid, burying the game-winning goal in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Western Conference Finals. However, once the Oilers made it to overtime at 2-2, this bettor was already celebrating their win, since Edmonton could’ve lost by one goal and still cashed this lucrative nine-leg super parlay wagered at Caesars Sportsbook.
