My friend just bought a finger print reader car security system or something. He said it used biometric technology. I havn't heard much ab biometrics so I did some research on the net to find out more. I didn't know that this kind of stuff was becoming mainstream with the public. He bought it off protechbiometrics.com. It was pretty expensive. He was telling me how awesome it was and told me I should get one. Anyway I was wondering if anyone here has one of these things. Are they reliable? What r the best brands? Are there other types of products out there you can buy? I guess what I was wondering if this type of stuff going to become everyday or is this some kind of after market crap.
Thanks for comments in advance.

I have used one for many years. Yes there were mego expensive back then.
We use them for doors, they are hooked to the computer to use instead of passwords. But you can get these on the cheap now. There are fingerprint readers you can use for passwords for less than $50 now.
