Had a pretty good week, so I think I'm gonna try for a big one. And since I always seem to do alot better when I post my picks, here goes:
NY Jets (2.40) @ Cincinnati Bengals: As far as I'm concerned, the Bengals are the biggest fraud team in the playoffs, and they get bounced today. Look at their ten wins:
Non Playoff teams: KC, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland (2), Pittsburgh (2)
Playoff teams: Green Bay (Week 2 when Packers were still struggling) and Baltimore (2)
The Jets are first in almost every defensive category imaginable (okay, the Bengals aren't that far behind, but that's not the point), and last week's ass whooping should give them plenty of confidence going into Cincy. It'll probably be close for awhile, but I think the Jets pound it down their throats and win going away.
Philadelphia Eagles (2.70) @ Dallas Cowboys: Donovan McNabb might be 9-6 lifetime in the playoffs, but take away his record in the BIG games (NFC Championship, Super Bowl), he's actually a whopping 8-1 (and a perfect 3-0 in the Wildcard round). Tony Romo, on the other hand, is 0-2. And, yeah, he's been playing lights out as of late, but as hard as it is to sweep a season series in the NFL, I gotta think it's even harder to beat a team 3 times in one season. Given all these factors, I like the Eagles alot today.
Pittsburgh Penguins @ Toronto Maple Leafs OVER 6.5 (1.80):
Over is 7-0-1 in the last 8 meetings in Toronto.
Over is 12-3-1 in the last 16 meetings.
The last three games in TO have seen totals of 7, 8 and 9
Penguins last three games have seen totals of 11, 7 and 8
Plus it's HNIC at the ACC with Sid The Kid. Would you expect anything less than fireworks?
Washington Capitals @ Atlanta Thrashers OVER 6.5 (1.80):
Over is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings.
Last 6 meetings in Atlanta have seen totals of 7, 9, 6, 6, 11 and 8!
Coming off their 3 game losing streak, Caps have 5 and 4 in last two games
With their 9 game losing streak history (where they still managed to go 7-2 to the over), at home against a division rival, and against one of the biggest stars in the league, expect the Thrashers to play fast and loose.
MAX Bet $100 * 21.00 = $2100
