Waratahs got the job done last week to keep the money flowing the right direction.
This week I'm on the Chiefs. Chiefs and Brumbies are the 2 best sides in the comp at the moment and there wasn't much between them last week. Even at full strength, Crusaders are still well behind this pair and I'm expecting DC and Dagg to both be out this week. Ellis and Nadolo will probably return but Drummond hasn't been the problem and hopefully Chiefs can contain the big fella out wide. I'm posting and betting this early as I can only see the Chiefs shortening. I think the side that ran around last week could get the job done but am hoping SBW is back and Retallick starts which would only improve their chances.
I'm jumping on Chiefs -3.5 @ $1.85.
Good punting all.

Chiefs pack got manhandled by the Brumbies who made some very poor decisions not taking shots at goal. Crusaders pack is on par if not better than the Brumbies pack, Chiefs set piece will get destroyed. Sadly as a Chiefs fan it's all too reminiscent of last season, Craig Clarke was the general of this pack and has been sorely missed.
Force will beat the Canes on Friday night, Perth is a graveyard for teams travelling to and from SA.

proversbowl - Thanks for posting as I'm always interested in others opinions.
Brumbies should have been able to beat Chiefs. Had they taken those shots at goal they would have, but they thought they could score tries on those occasions and were wrong. Chiefs contained them and Brumbies have a more potent attack than Crusaders. Chiefs look dangerous every time they have the ball and IMO, given a reasonable amount of possession, should simply put up too many points for Crusaders to match.

I think people are too quick to write off the Crusaders every year. This is virtually the same backline that took them within 2 minutes of winning a final in Sydney last year, with the only exception being Fruean currently playing in place of Nadolo currently(doing a bloody job I might say)
This is a defining year for the Crusaders with an exodus of players at the end of the year including DC & Richie, the intensity they played with last week shocked me after week 1 and after last years start. This team is on the verge of hitting their straps and won't be stopped once they do.
Reds +7.5 Force ML Saders +3.5 are my 3 plays for the weekend. Highlanders have a lot of injuries including Lima Sopoaga, and simply don't have a fetcher to counter Liam Gill. Hate Richard Graham as a coach but the Reds should cut them up here.

I'm not by any means writing Crusaders off and they may surprise me and get the win on Saturday, but I doubt it.
Of Saturdays run on side only three forwards (Crockett, Ritchie, Todd) and three backs (Slade, Crotty, Fonotia) started in last years GF

Romano/McNichol would have been starters in that team but they were injured. Funnell is better than Flynn. Franks is a bit of a loss but Laulala has been in the Saders system for many years now and sees plenty of game time during the season anyway. Whitelock is an obvious lock but Barrett is a monster and definitely a future All Black(Beaudens brother by the way) Kieran Read was average by his normal standards last year and Taufua again is a regular player in the Saders system, would start every game for a lot of teams(testament to saders loose trio depth)
Drummond is probably the biggest weakness but he played well last week and Ellis is on the bench.
The Chiefs forward pack is a mess with a lock starting @ 6 and Messam starting @ 8(played terribly here in the past, not big enough)
Anyway we'll see what happens. Just looking forward to the Force beating the Canes tomorrow night, a lot of suckers going to be on the canes.

I'll eat my crow on the Force play can't believe they were so gutless at home, 32 missed tackles by the time I turned the TV off
Canes played very well. Their coaching staff have done a fantastic job having Canes playing with control and showing uncharacteristic patience in their build ups. Canes showing consistency? - who would ever have thought it.
Reds and Highlanders were the opposite to Canes. Neither having the control or patience to capitalise on scoring opportunities. I must have been watching a different game to the Fox commentary team because I thought it was an awful game. Other than that sensational early break, O'Connor was poor and those scrums had me tearing my hair out. I think they need to look at stopping the clock while scrums are setting - it felt like we had 20 minutes of wasted time last night.
GL for the rest of the weekend - apart from Crusaders of course LOL
