Has been a good opening to the season, still a long journey ahead and plenty of ups and downs left in the season I bet.

This games has all the makings for a real cracker to open the weekend and have to say I will be on the away favourite. Usually not a good idea but when these two match up the away team has a massive advantage. The away team in 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. That's a crazy number but one that I like. I believe the Canes are deserved favourites as the only unbeaten team left in the competition and think it remains that way tonight. They have lost Dane Coles but do welcome back a couple All Blacks Cory Jane and Jeremy Thrush. Highlanders are missing a couple key players and that could be the difference in the game.

Hurricanes 1-12 Margin 3 units @ $3.00

It came as a little bit of a surprise to me that the last 12 encounters had been decided by 7 points or less. That makes for some great vale at the $3's.

Brumbies Su 5 units @ $2.00

This has to be a joke really? The Brumbies are probably the best Aussie team and they are slight underdogs. In my opinion they have shown a lot more than the Waratahs 5 weeks into the competition and think there is a lot of value at $2's. The brumbies have had consistent form throughout so far with the only loss to the Chiefs which was a real nail bitter. Tahs have been very up and down and the only teams they have beaten so far have been Aussie ones, and weaker teams at that. I have made this play early as wanted to get on at good value a I see there should be some money come for the Brumbies as the weekend progresses.

You're the O/U man snake but geez I thought 49.5 looked high in tonight's early game. Brumbies remain my bet for the round (NSW TAB still offering $2.10) but I'll be surprised if Highlanders/Canes hits 50+

Had a good night last night, and for any of those people who might think that pass was backwards, get real and see an optometrist, was a mile forward.

Have to be honest wont be watching much Rugby with the Cricket on today but have a couple plays that I like a lot.

Cheetahs/Crusaders Over 50.5 5 units @ $2.00

This game should yield a lot of points this afternoon. The Cheetahs tend to have some high scoring games and if the Crusaders need a game to get going they had it last week and think both teams should have a few points in them today. Last week could just be the spark they need.

Chiefs +2.5 5 units @ $1.90

The Chiefs played very well last week and can not find a reason to not think they wont back it up this week. Yes they have a couple guys out but still like their team a lot. In fact the in the last 5 matches the Chiefs have won them all, those are very good numbers. The Chiefs have a 4-4 record in Durbin to boot, those are very good numbers and they are a top 5 team this year. To keep pace with the Canes they require a win and nothing else.
