Okay Flynt, I will give that a try later this afternoon. Thanks. However, when I recently downloaded a new and different browser (Opera), I should have started fresh with that one... nothing cached, etc. I do recall having to log in, as that new browser didn't know my settings. I had the same darn result, so I'm not yet convinced this will work. I'm stepping out the door now so I'll try that later. |

Sure enough, if I hit ENTER while editing the post, everything is okay. Just not initially. Go figure.

Important. I HAVE learned that if I EDIT the post AFTER it's been initially sent, that usually works. (Although I don't see that EDIT box available each and every time.) After initially submitting the post, I can click that EDIT box and then hit ENTER where I want a new paragraph to start and the resulting paragraph will indeed be seen. But I know I shouldn't have to do that. As a test, I'll try it with this post. This will be a new paragraph. And this will be yet another new paragraph.

Yes, I periodically download all Firefox updates regularly. It's the latest version. But note it's not just Firefox. I also have Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and now the Opera browser. I've tried them all. They all produce the same result. So that's why I don't think it's related to Firefox.
My device is a desktop computer, running Windows 11 Pro, Version 24H2, Build 26100.2605.
My internet provider is Spectrum, if that makes a difference.
I can't figure out for the life of me why my paragraphs are lost after the submit button is hit. It makes no sense to me. It's discouraging because a large reply without paragraph breaks is often hard to read. (That's what paragraphs are for.)
As another test I should probably boot up an old work laptop of mine, and log in with that, to see if that is any better.
Oh yea, also, note that if I click on any of the "Quote Post" links, nothing is quoted... nothing is entered in this large REPLY box. Years ago I remember being able to quote posts, so that's broken for me too.
This reply now has a total of seven different paragraphs including this one. And yet it will all be displayed as one, once I hit SUBMIT.

Boring?? On the contrary. True football fans don't need points a lot of scored to enjoy a game.
Defensive battles can be just, if not more, exciting.

Exciting game. Great defensive battle. Anyone not enjoying this game is not a true football fan.

So in my reply above, none of it was pasted. It was all just typed from hand. And as you can see, no paragraphs were the result, despite me seeing them on the screen.
So it's got nothing to do with copying and pasting. The problem exists without copying and pasting.

When I pasted in the text for those two paste attempts, I was highlighting the text from Notepad (and then Word), copying it to memory via CTRL-C, and then pasting it here via CTRL-V.
As you can see, that didn't work either. The text that I copied into memory contained paragraph breaks... which I did indeed see on the screen after the paste. But then when I hit hit orange SUBMIT button below, and saw the result, the paragraph breaks were all lost.
This line here is the start of a the third paragraph in this reply. (I hit ENTER twice after the word LOST in the sentence above.) I can see this new paragraph in this REPLY window. So this line should also be a new paragraph. But it will also be lost once I hit the SUBMIT button.
I can't figure this out to save my life. (And this line is the fourth paragraph... which will also be run together.)

Does anyone know why my paragraphs disappear? It makes no difference which browser I use. I've tried Firefox, Edge, Opera, and Chrome. In each case, when I type a sentence and hit ENTER, like right NOW I "see" a new paragraph on the screen... but then after I hit the SUBMIT button below, and view the text, there are no paragraphs at all. Everything is run together. I've had this problem for at least five years. |
