Which Poker Books have you read?

I disagree completely.  The poker pros writing these books have a lot of knowledge and it helps lay a great base to become a good poker player.  If nothing else reading a book will help save you from learning some lessons the hard way. 

Doyle Brunson said if he had had his book when he was starting out it would have saved his bankroll several times over. 

With all that said, to each their own.

Books and playing is a solid combo to winning poker

yeah, I'm not trying to copy his style though. I would never experiment with most of his philosophy on aggression (there's too many factors that go hand in hand to play his way) but he's done well for himself and his insight is amazing. There's still a lot of tips n advice in there that a lot of people will find helpful (your simple things that one might have strayed from if their game is struggling).

Having said that, I'd like to see a lot of players write the same kinda book Gus did, possibly a journal of cash games.

Kind of agree with you on this one....i feel as if I may read an entire book and only benefit a tiny bit. But every player is different...

i've read quite a few, but hands down the one that helped me the most was "Professional No-Limit Hold 'em: Volume 1"! i guess thats the best cashgame book around nowadays. if you haven't read it already - get it!!! it's

for beginners essential - harrington (esp the tournement books)

i think doyles ss and sklanskys books are a good read and as a beginner you should definetly read em,but they are a lil outdated.(sorry ;) )

i like gus hansens book,cause it is a very fast read and extremely entertaining, it's interesting and sometimes funny but educational - NO
