I am new to poker and want to learn online, but while i'm online is it still legal to play and make money? if i were in the US, probably not a good idea.
Has anyone set up an account from a foreign country say Canada or Spain, joined an online poker site, and play from the United States. When you have built enough bankroll, if any, go back to the foreign and take your money out and spend it there? Is that legal?
IF so, what site do you use.
I was playing poker the other day, don't know if he was BSing, but he said, he plays an online site from the US where he has created an account in Germany. He uses some type of internet machine where it is difficult for anyone to see that he is playing from the US.
any comments will help, I just want to play and learn poker.

I use sportsinteraction.com. Online poker is rigged as hell...so don't spend much money on it. Small entertainment dollars. That's all.
Sports betting gives you some control. You have none with poker. Whatever the case, if you live in the US, don't give much money to any book, because they could get seized at any time.

This completely untrue. You actually have more control in poker. Online is not rigged.I bet if you took a poll more people make 100k a year playing online than they do betting sports. I would assume it's not even close. People seem to think that because of a few bad beats. Online you play way more hands per hour so it's easier to get exposed and you're obviously going to win more than live because you're playing more hands. That also applies to bad beats as well. If you play in 6 rooms at a time you can get into more hands in 3 hours than you can play in an entire week live.
Deposit small and grind it up. Learning is the most important thing when you are starting out.

Hey BetOnline has a lot of freerolls if you're interested in learning the game more you can do it there. Other than that online poker in the US is really messed up right now! Better off looking for a live game or saving up and going to Nevada. Had some good success in cash games there. Or find a local game.

mrbelvidere2010 Is Right. I played online poker for about 6 years now and never had a losing year. You need to play very smart and never go on tilt. Bad beats happen for and against, so don't get to excited either way. GL

The Jackazz'z that think it's rigged are the same people that think the Human Race is fixed. I still make about $300 a month playing at Bovada but it takes about 4-5 weeks to get the check. I'm not bragging about the $300, however it's better than not playing at all. OUT
