....was at the local room the other night and sat down to a full table. There was a nice amount of cash on the table considering what the room is usually accustomed to. Bought in for a hundred and dropped about 30ish in a half hour, then came the action hand. I was last of five to call a pre flop raise to $10 while holding J10 off. Flop comes A Q 8 with two diamonds. EVERYONE checks the flop(couldn't believe that part). Turn is a non diamond King. First guy best $50 two players fold, then an elderly lady that is always playing tight calls. First guys bet didn't mean anything since he is aggressive. Her call though really got my eyes open. I figure her for at least two pair if not trips. I push all in since it's only about $10 more for me anyway and both players call. The river is another Ace and I knew as soon as it hit the old lady had made a boat. She shoved all in on the other player and he folded and then she turns over AQ for the boat. Murders my straight. I was just frustrated cause there was a good amount of money in that pot. It would have been a good start to go after some of the players that hand $400 and $500 in front of them.
I just keep thinking of what might have happened had that river been anything other than a Ace or Queen. Oh well.
