New to Covers, had a good run with arena football last year and will begin posting my picks and inviting conversation with other gamblers who keep an eye on the arena league. I don't make guarantees or have a crystal ball to see these games ahead of time so take my picks for what they're worth - good luck to everyone and let's have a profitable season!
Tonight's games
1. San Jose vs. Grand Rapids ? ? PICK - San Jose
San Jose, last year's Arena Bowl champs, made me a lot of money last year but they looked very rusty in thier loss to Chicago last week. Chicago is one hell of a team but San Jose really beat themselves last week, i can't see them doing that two weeks in a row. Grand Rapids is coming off a 4 win season and made a lot of offseason changes, they had a bye week 1 and i think they are opening the season with a loss here. I'm laying the 10 and a half points and taking San Jose
2. Los Angeles vs. Arizona ?PICK - L.A. and Over 108
L.A. and Arizona both notched victories week one beating two of the league's lesser teams, both in high scoring affairs. L.A. Quarterback Sonny Cumbie is poised to have his breakout year and L.A. badly wants to start 2-0 so they can get themselves into the conversation about the AFL's elite teams like Philly, Dallas and Chicago - i like L.A. in this spot, also, judging by week one, it seems that neither team can play defense worth a shit so i really like the over.
Out of my three plays, i feel strongest about the over in the L.A./Arizona game. ?Any comments or thoughts are always welcome - Good Luck!

NOTE TO LeeMarvin: A small group of southern gentlemen with reserve set aside believe there is cash to be made in AFL. Been waiting for somebody with a killer instinct to come on this board and be a regular natural pick leader. You are the one, and we only have one rule: you pick'em, we play'em. Bet hard my friend, BOL and here we go!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my first night of posting comes to an end and my record is a disappointing 1-2 ? ?L.A. covered this game easily but my over went out the window when Arizona lost thier starting quarterback Lang Campbell early in the 2nd quarter and his backup, Michigan State's Jeff Smoker could not move the chains to save his life, if he's starting for Arizona next week, i'll be betting against them for sure!?
I'll be posting my leans and picks on the weekend - good luck with your plays all week
