You are dead right with that explanation the refs and their red flags sways wich way to go, but all this blind purists resist to knowledge the game is rigged. The average non gambling fan can't see through the bs the game has become.

How long have you guys been betting on football thinking it's rigged? I mean at what point do you guys accept it and quit if that is what you believe instead of whining every week. Since you obviously can't accept losing.
Btw, y'all know PI WAS reviewable for a season, right? They tried it and then it was the owners themselves who voted not to keep it.

it aint rigged, only scripted¡

I honestly believe this because that non call on PI was as blatant as they come

I didn't even have the over boss, it was more of a seeing the non PI and then out of curiosity checking what the O/U was and sure enough they couldn't have any more points lol

Fellas if you think it's rigged then think it's rig
If you think it's not rigged then think it's not rigged.
I myself think it's most definitely manipulated and controlled by the stripes on the field and not reflected in such when the split take is even and not one sided.
When the money is dominated on one side the deceptivemess comes into play best believe it.
This practice seems most polarized on primetime games.
Their are seven referees/officials on the field in each game none of you want to add in the two replay officials.
The officials mentioned above are the ONLY ones that have the control to control or do their best to control the outcome and NO ONE else. No players, No coaches, No Personnel, though it may seem that they do because of some of their bonehead decisions.
I'm sure they have a meeting with these men before each and every game and have their game time instructions from the league.
Noone really knows what the true handle on these games really are or which side is being played except the gambling industry in which case their desired outcome when deemed necessary most always prevails.
So the question remains what side is the money flowing on and is overwhelmingly getting the majority of the action because if you can come up with that answer you will have the winner.
That's just my take on this subject which appears to most always come up as a topic on this forum.
But like everyone else on this thread it's just my own posted opinion.
Let's move on and off this subject gentleman and see if we can come up with this weekends winner.

Losers lose. It¡¯s that simple. Then blame everything else but themselves. It¡¯s a problem in America and that¡¯s why we are losing in the world.

@RavensOsNHoes
If you think Vegas 'needs' a result on a total on some random mid season game you're a moron..they make more from slots then they do sports betting. The game landed near the total as it often does because that's one of the easiest lines for them to set. The oddsmakers did their job, it could have gone either way, no need to fix anything and people who think that are just talking through their pocket.

So who is it rigged for? Yes the O47 pushed,and the U47.5 hit, but just as many people won if they had the O46.5. Everyone screams it's rigged only when they lose,but they never say it evens out when they are on the side of the rig.

I couldn't have said it any better. People believe this can't happen because so many people would have to be involved. I do not think they discuss it, though, and it's an unspoken agreement to become an NFL ref. They can't leave a paper trail for something to be proven.

Do you know how much more money a Thanksgiving primetime game has? I didn't even look, but I bet if you looked the money involved and how heavily it favored the over in this game is significant.

@RavensOsNHoes
Its not rigged...as in pre-determined outcome
But the refs can massage outcomes very easily....hence why a ton of games come down to the final couple drives for the total/spread...it is entertainment

@justliketoplay
This sums it up
Nfl owners and gambling industry in bed together...especially now with legalization
The refs are given the numbers in the pre-game meetings
All the refs have to do is throw flags in certain situations to keep a team in the game or stall a team with big lead
Is it rigged with a pre-determined outcome? No
Do they keep as many games as close as possible through flag manipulation? Yes...their job (league/owners) is to keep eyes on the TV (ratings) to increase the price of their advertisement slots...

@NutinButtLove
They don't need a result by any means you are right...I mean if they have 90% action/money on one side they definitely prefer the 10% side to cover
They need the games to be close and entertaining to keep ratings high and advertisement slots expensive

Yep it¡¯s not rigged at all. Marcus Williams as a rookie playing free safety in January 2016 up in Minnesota in a playoff game for New Orleans didn¡¯t miss Stefon Diggs on purpose!!! He took his own teammate out on the sidelines as well. After the game-winning TD, when FOX Sports showed the replay, Aikman said of Williams, ¡°I don¡¯t know what he¡¯s doing.¡± The final score of that game was Vikings 29 Saints 24 MN-5.5 and the NFL forced players out onto the field to snap the ball for the extra point but they didn¡¯t actually kick it and therefore the Vikings didn¡¯t cover. After the game, FOX Sports interviewed Marcus Williams in the Saints locker room providing him even more embarrassment. That part of this script was a humiliation ritual to the letter. Williams actually had a pick in that game and a great rookie season. Last January in the AFC Championship game from Baltimore, Marcus Williams, now with the Ravens, had a ¡°blown coverage¡± allowing a Chiefs TD. Recently Williams made it so obvious by allowing Jamar Chase to completely get past him for an easy TD on TNF that the Ravens actually benched him for a week! On that specific play, Williams is actually running away from Chase as Jamar goes to make the wide open catch to take it to the house! This game has been rigged for a very long time. Don¡¯t take my word for it. Take former Super Bowl 37 Champion of the Tampa Bay Bucs DB Dwight Smith¡¯s word for it. Maybe Google him and see what he had to say about it. Or don¡¯t and stay asleep.

If they wanted to stop the noise of games being ¡°influenced¡± ¡°rigged¡± ¡°scripted¡± whatever it may be. They¡¯d hire full time officials. But instead we continue on with the same shitshow refs who are so fucking bad that often times we can¡¯t decipher if they¡¯re truly this awful (likely) or have some sort script to influence games (less likely). The nfl has done an incredible job of making it so bad, so dysfunctional, so inconsistent, so unorganized, that we may never know.

I don¡¯t know, but maybe some of the old timers here, or at least those who know history, remember the 1918 Black Sox Scandal? There was a movie about it and everything, in case you don¡¯t or can¡¯t read.
