I dont remember the year but i think it was around 2010 or 11 maybe i bought 10 bitcoin after reading an article about how it was the future. I forgot about it for a while and then sold them for like 200 bucks bc i had a bad drug habit at the time.
Thank god ive been clean and sober not even alcohol since 2014, but just imagine if I had really fully forgot about those bitcoin until now

I spent the equivalent of, at today's prices, 125k for some weed I bought back in 2013.

I can't recommend enough reading that thread if you're at all interested in Bitcoin. The responses and the discussion are hilarious in retrospect.

You can do whatever you chose, but this is the NFL Betting forum, and we are here for NFL Betting! I wasn't telling you what you can or can not talk about, just sharing we are here to hear your NFL Betting expertise. If you want want to celebrate BTC that's Great! Maybe a different forum for that. If this NFL season or Bet is just a grain of sand on the beach, just skip it in all and let's talk BTC! I know you have had at least 2 great seasons betting NFL, this season haven't been nice, and we care, that is why we are here. No one wants to keep hearing about BTC or how much you are up the past 7 years.
We want to hear why the Rams? Why post the pick before Tyreek Hill is about to be reported on the active list which will make the spread lower than the posted -2.5. We want to hear since 2008 head to head have been Miami 4 wins compare to Rams 0 wins. We want to hear did the Rams turn the corner after the rough start without their 2 star WRs or their last 3 wins in their last 3 games were just them playing some bad teams or caught some teams in bad spots like the Vikings game. Do we expect Tua to keep falling short? Since his return, they have put up back to back 27 points loses again some good teams, 1 point loss to the Cardinals and 3 points cover loss to the Bills. Rams made the Seahawks without DK looked like they was actually good.
All I am saying, we want to hear Football from you in the NFL betting forum. This is why we are here! We want to hear the Old Vanzack when he was ripping apart every NFL season, dropping knowledge left and right, not this BTC guy, who doesn't really care of his -21 units, and compare to my last 7 years this is nothing guy. We want the old Vanzack, who drop so much facts, its impossible to FADE!

I have been reading the covers posts for nearly a year and decided to comment here and there a few days ago. I bet as a hobby and only $1. Last year amassed enough winnings for a new winter coat. I like reading the insights and stats in the forum. I cap my own games as my boyfriend taught me how and taught me about all the games. If I win it's great but if I lose its on me and only me. Today I parlayed MTL CDNS Puck line and the over, MIA ml for they got to win sometime and Rams are due for a loss, LAC over and BRK ml. May my CDN Loonie make me a quarter. GL.

Well written post. Gotta give you credit where credit is due.
I'm going to be straight with you because I feel like you put time into that and are being straight with me....
I've been doing this at covers in one way or another for about 25 years. Before the last 5 years or so, there were lots of things we take for granted now that were arguments on covers. We used to debate things like key numbers, is juice important, martingale systems, just elementary shit. And now the sports gambling population has a certain base education that it didn't have before.
I mentioned that because it's an example of the evolution, or the learning, that has greatly benefited me personally and one of the reasons I still post here. I have learned so much from being on covers. It's almost sad to me what the site has become, because it wasn't ever like this. It wasn't a pick or handicapping based site, there was a lot of theory and sometimes stupid discussions about everything having to do with sports betting. At some point covers decided to take a turn and dedicate itself towards more handicapping.
So today's version of covers really doesn't fit what I can do a good job of providing. I think I'd be a great teacher of gambling studies, but it's hard to make a write-up that is true and not just a narrative of 100 plus plays a year in the NFL. It's just not what I do well, partly because I don't believe there is value in it... Because if my model says the ram should be a four-point favorite over the dolphins and therefore a 2 and 1/2 point spread means a three-unit play, reduced by a half unit because of my current form, That's not typically what people want to hear around here.
But that's the truth. The Rams in my model were 4 Tonight, The dolphins have a lot of negative indicators in this game mainly on the defensive side, and therefore it's a two and a half point play.
I have about 60,000 posts here over the years, and I would say 55,000 of them were before 3 or 4 years ago. I don't get the enjoyment I used to get in debating the intricacies of the week to week NFL, because most people here bet differently than I do. There have been a very select few that have engaged me on the things that I have brought up that I do. Things like modeling, statistics, traction reports, adjusted stats, things like that. That's boring stuff.
So yeah, the old vanzack would write up long narratives supporting my position, but it became a situation where the more talented debater would win those discussions rather than the content of what was written. I don't like that, and I don't think it's productive, and I think write-ups often detract from better results because they are so enticing.

I'll tail today n I'll buy me more BTC
I don't know anything about BTC but what year was it when 5dimes went down? They started to pay out my account in BTC Instead of cash.
Now I don't know where I put that key code.

I am not a great student of mathematics and probability and my teacher gambling wise left us long ago. In any event, I appreciate all your effort and thoroughly read each of your posts much to my benefit. Thanks, and as all should already know, this worm will turn.

Funny reading the initial BTC post from 11 years ago. You sounded like a very curious guy who knew very little about it. And I don¡¯t mean that as a criticism. You seem to have gone from that position to a person who has most likely become very wealthy off of bitcoin. Congratulations on your success.
Me on the other hand, I¡¯m totally late to the party on btc just out of sheer ignorance. I never understood it or cared about it a long time ago. But I fondly recall my brother telling me about it somewhere between 7-10 years ago now. Boy do I feel like I missed the boat. I¡¯m assuming that your answer to this question will be yes, but do you recommend investing right now? Just a few months back I was talking to my girlfriend about how I seriously was considering investing some money into it. I think at the time it was about 55k. Now, once again I feel stupid for not getting involved.

Lol. You do not sound like a person who has confidence in bitcoin. I have talked to many people like yourself over the years, all the while watching others make money. Yes definitely a noob. But I¡¯m ok with that. I wouldn¡¯t dump my life savings into it, nor do I with sports betting.

I was one of the posters who read your original post back in 13¡¯. I knew about it and found it nearly impossible to buy at the point. I have never asked you but how did you buy your original BTC¡¯s and where did you store it? I¡¯ve shared your post with thousands of people over the last 11 years.
