Has Mac Jones played his last game in the NFL obviously for sure played his last game with NE but is there another team that would take a chance on him. Interesting to see him not sitting on the bench sulking yesterday but standing on the sidelines with his helmet on ready for action that there was no way he was getting in unless Zappe got injured. Not sure there is a spot for him anywhere else in the league but maybe as a backup or does he just hang them up.

@ mainman11111 Not even as a backup. Mac in his rookie year playing under OC McDaniels had a half decent rookie year. Then NE brings back DC Patricia who I believe knows dick all about offense and then for his third year they bring in O'Brien who I would put in the same category as Patricia. I still think with weapons like the Detroit Lions have and their OC he would still be a half decent QB hopefully he gets one more chance to prove himself he is done in NE.

@ CanadaCup disagree he just needs a change of scenery an OC like I said like Ben Johnson of the Detroit Lions who has some imagination on plays and some weapons like the Lions (which they have min 6 or 7 of) to work with NE has none to speak of hard to make chicken soup out of chicken feathers. McDaniels will never service as a head coach ever again he had his two shots but can see him returning as a OC who knows maybe some day Mac and him will reunite.

@lookingtowin Mac Jones isn¡¯t even good enough to be a starting Quarterback in the CFL.
he's really not that good anymore but that doesnt mean some team wont put him on their roster in hopes a new OC...change of scenery....blind luck...will make him serviceable if he's needed. And hopefully he's never needed.
Again see Tim Boyle and Mitchell Trubisky. These guys have started games in the NFL this year and they shouldnt have.

Imagine how Mac Jones career would of went if he was drafted to the 49ers
Mac Jones is limited when it comes to talent wise and mental toughness, but I know he'd be a decent QB with a capable O-line and a few intelligent receivers. His coach and GM Bill Belichick was outright negligent with off-season roster decisions. It's strange but predictable that the press called Belichick on his inept decisions at the time, but when Jones finally fell apart a few weeks back, they put it all on the QB.
One NFL beat reporter called Belichick's handling of Jones 'a textbook case on how to ruin a young QB'. It's at - or near the top of Kraft's list of reasons for moving on from BB. Personally for me, Belichick's track record over the past five years (beginning with benching Malcom Butler in the SB) is THE most bizarre thing I've seen in 50 years watching the NFL.
NE's O-line is one of the NFL's worst in pass protection. Ditto on the receiver corps (except for Kendrick Bourne, who's been badly misused the last 2 seasons and is now injured), Besides this, Belichick let Jones' go-to guy Jacobi Meyers leave for the Raiders and instead inexplicably signed (dameged goods) Juju for the same $ Meyers was asking. Also for the first time in my memory, there's NO 3rd down back on his roster! If Belichick were sabotaging this kid's career, he did a masterful job. He had two clowns - failed HCs in Patricia and Judge, leading the offense in Jones 2nd year. Then, for some reason, he wouldn't even say the kid's name leading up to this season. Finally he topped it off by passing on Deandre Hopkins, who was avaoilable and would have been an excellent fit and given mac a very much needed target.
It's now a given that BB has no clue about building a viable NFL roster, but the "job" he did with his current offense goes way beyond that. I have no idea how to explain it. So I agree Mac Jones was awful this year and I think he should have sat before he was, but the responsibility for it falls on Belichick. I

NE will be taking whatever QB they can grab in the draft and set Mac free its like he has been held hostage he showed in his rookie year like I said that he is capable of playing in the NFL everything after that first year has been a complete SHIT SHOW and you can't put all of that on Mac.

NE signed Nathan Rourke off waivers from Jax so now do Mac a favour and cut him loose so he can be sitting there for someone anyone to give him a new beginning he deserves at least that.

Same can be said for Mitch Trubisky except he knows it is over in Pittsburgh. When he was pulled at the end of the Colts' game, he sat on a bench alone and in deep thought pondering his fate. Anyone think he will be with the Steelers next year, think again.
Not a chance in hell, but some dumb GM will sign him for lesser money somewhere else. This is what they do and the same system allows for lousy coaches to be shuffled around elsewhere. A treadmill of mediocrity exists up until they start losing money and then changes will happen but until then, enjoy this clown car of a fake sport.

Look at trubisky . This guy gets a 3rd chance as Steeler starter with 3 outstanding receivers and still chokes . What makes you think Mac jones would do better else where. Mac is a back up qb and needs stay at back up.

Two punk a$$ whining receivers (Pickens and Johnson) and a butter finger TE (Freiermuth) who refuses to block, but yeah Mitch isn't a franchise QB (how Tomlin described him prior to the Colts' game).
From franchise QB to cut at season's end.

@ PHO-20 I gave you about a dozen reasons if you read the complete thread a great Offensive Line (give him more than 1.5 seconds to find a couple of half decent targets or help with the run) in that two or three talented WR two TE like Sam Laporta from the Lions and say a Kelce or pick two good ones from any good teams. NE has absolutely no offensive talent what so ever. Do you actually think Purdy Mahomes or Tua would go to NE and look as amazing as they do NOT A CHANCE.

@ GodOfGambler64
For sure better than what they have in Pittsburgh but not so sure he would do any better for the same reason as playing in NE no talent to work with just hope they free him before the end of the season and hope he gets a chance whether BB remains in NE or moves on to another team to play against BB and throttles him.

The fact that Zappe has looked so much better than Mac Jones and the Offense the last 2 weeks has looked like a real NFL offense is not good for Mac Jones...Jones will probably not get another starting QB job but will have a chance to be a backup QB.....One thing about being a back up QB in the NFL is not really about talent..it's about being a great teammate and having a good attitude in the QB room....Look at all the scrub back up QB's that made a career of being a longtime backup...Chase Daniel...Colt McCoy..Case Keenum.....Mac jones does not seem like a likable guy and great teammate...That does not bold well for a back up QB spot...

@ davemsh
Not too many QB's who are supposedly sitting on the bench stand on the sidelines with their helmet on and the best part he was smiling. Mac has had it with BB and BB has no use for Mac and Mac can't wait to get the hell out of NE. Like I said a perfect match for Mac would be Detroit Lions with head coach Dan Campbell and Detroit's probably 2nd or 3rd best Offensive line in the league and their 7 or 8 great weapons at TE WR and two RB in Gibbs and Montgomery a real team to work with.

As a backup possible..But he is not unseating Goff..Mac Jones sucks..His ceiling is so low..Like what is he good at? His upside is so limited..He does not make players better...There is a reason he was a 3rd string QB at Bama..
