BB it looks like we're back to square one with this one.....
they're gonna play 6 games only to have it be decided by 1 sudden death game 7.... who would have thought all along?
Back to square 1 for the teams, yes exactly, but not for us. Hopefully, we will be pounding game 6 and making money off of this mickey mouse league. But the Thunder will win this series now (in 7). The league showed its hand. They want no part of Sterling et al. The officiating was one-sided throughout and I'm not even talking about the finish. Just look at the foul shots and all the fouls on Jordan (the rim protector).

But that's just it. Ref assignments aren't random. They are assigned specifically for specific reasons with orders as how to ref the game.

"Many of these accusations are based on the premise that the NBA desires large markets and popular players for ratings purposes. Former CBS Sports president Neal Pilson disputes the idea that matchups have the biggest effect on ratings:
¡°Ratings are a factor, but the 'conspiracy theory' misses the whole point. It has nothing to do with a great matchup, it has to do with the total number of games. NBC would trade a great matchup that's a sweep in a flash for a bad match up that goes seven games"

"How rare is it for a team to relinquish a 13-point fourth-quarter lead? Prior to the date of the Clippers' fourth-quarter comeback in Game 4, 459 teams had held a 13-point fourth quarter lead over the last 10 playoff seasons combined (since 2005). Of those teams, 445 went on to win the game (96.9%) --and it has now happened in consecutive games in the Clippers-Thunder series."

How can you sure this is 90% rule. You think that 9 out of 10 series where we have huge comeback or some psychological disaster for one of the sides lead to this "law"... Maybe you just think and search in one direction. There are so many series during the years which points the opposite... It's hard to compare series to series...
It's a nice thread and good discussion nevertheless
I said it before the game and i will say it again... Now suddenly the "law" turn around and leads to OKC to win series right ? You can replace every word which contains Thunder or Clippers in the post where the "law" was revealed and we will have it again
No offense really... the refs were huge factor in the end of the game... that's why i said that there is no "laws" in NBA and it's hard to compare series to series. GL BB

"Bennett Salvatore, Tom Washington and Tony Brothers reffing a genuinely important NBA playoff game - what could possibly go wrong?
The lousy refs are about to ruin one team's season. Lock it down. I am assigning @Jpdabrams the Game 5 oral history right now to save time.
You can't assign these 3 guys to THIS game. You just can't. I am so disappointed.
Scott Brooks down 13 with 4 to go and still has Perkins out there. This game is gonna give me a seizure.
That was all-time bad. I'm staying off Twitter."
The NBA will get Simmons off TV. He does the halftime shows for ABC and Espn for the playoffs for those who don't know.
They'll just send a letter to the bigwigs at Disney sooner than later and Simmons will politely bow out and go back to his podcast/Grantland.
He's too truthful. And he tells the truth by doing the worst thing possible: saying names (especially of refs and pounding them into our head until we know them like a family member). NBA won't stand for it much longer.

I guess the line for game 6 between OKC and Clippers will be between 4 and 5. What are your thoughts, beginnerboy and scalabrine? Wouldnt it be too easy to bet on a solid clippers win? I mean almost everyone will be on the clippers. Could be the worst blood bath of the playoffs if OKC can win it in 6.

Game 5 just twisted the whole situation. Clippers losing a game they should have never lost and OKC winning a game they should have never one. Your theory would say that the clippers wont recover from that heartbreaking loss.
Of course, everyone thinks that clippers will come out angry and on fire. But why? Shouldnt they be much mentally down and still thinking about a possible 3-2 and a home game in which they could have finished OKC?

I dont really think everyone will be on clippers, this one has been a very equilibrated series so far.the spreads are almost always 50/50... Anyway you 're right dirk,a victory at home for the clips isnt a given....

I wish I was working for someone, as this is a thankless (and payless) job. When guy (Simmons) predicts that these particular refs will find a way to screw up the game (and sure, it was the Clippers that offered them the chance by their own blunders) 2 hours before it happens, you can't say that the refs had nothing to o with the outcome.
As far as game 6, Doc will have his guys ready but the Thunder will be ready as well. If the Clips get a lot of favorable whistles (and I think they will) they'll cover the spread. But if not, it will be another close one.

Don't be scared scal cos you met someone smarter than ya. Really hard to talk with aren't you.
Bb; WTF? 'Doc will have his guys ready but the thunder will be ready as well' of course they are fking gonna be ready they've played 80 games this year and have been preparing in the fking off season. Watching tape is just fking standard. Why on earth would you even state or be thinking about that.
Clips get a lot of favourable whistles? They even out in games more often than not. The refs have watched the footage like you have. Convince yourself otherwise by making excuses but the more important reason why clippers lost was because of errors and breakdown. Sure it was off reggie, but don't you realise that the refs coulda called it a foul? So now in hindsight, you were first LUCKY to not get the foul call and then unlucky not to get the ball back. Refs will not feel obligated to give them A LOT of favourable whistles; maybe 1 or 2. To base this game so heavily on the fact that you think there is gonna be favourable whistles in your next statement is hilarious, 'they cover the spread or it'll be another close one'.

And to you. Mr scally wally. You write well. You say you care for everyone and state things like how you read every fking comment.
Understand that your several pages of convincing posts are causing forumville to bet way over their heads in by tailing you. No it's not your responsibility and it is completely theirs. But you are ignorant or stupid or sadly apathetic to express such care for these people.
Fool of a took.
