The fact that Kyrie is playing speaks to his mindset. This could easily be a personal day because of the Chauvin trail and typically would be. Kyrie playing means he's dialed in and wanting to get a win. The consensus is this team cant win with just him on the court. I expect he shows everyone today how wrong they are. I also suspect he wants to have a huge game and speak on the trial and issues in black community. Pelicans are coming off an ugly loss to the Knicks where their future star basically said he wants on the Knicks. The pelicans didn't seem to care much that they lost and clearly lost because of a lack of care/attentiveness when they had the game won.
(would also strongly consider over on his points. maybe a 40+ night)
Knicks -5 1/2:
Knicks are playing amazing playoff effort basketball on the defensive end. The Randle match up will win the game on the offensive side. The hornets will likely double Randle in the post but this Knicks team moves the ball and plays disciplined basketball. Expecting the role players to step up and get another win for Knicks.
TWolves +130
Twolves are a much better team then their record indicates. If you watch team interviews Towns cares about winning games and has been adamant about trying to rally this team to finish the season strong. Rubio recently spoke about finishing the season strong and how the Suns won 8 in a row and now are 2nd in the west. This teams hopes to do the same thing. Russel can now play up to 30 min. Their young defense players Vanderbilt, Mcdaniels and Okogie play insanely hard and are very good defenders. The team has been injured, distracted and had schedule changes due to the trial. This is a perfect feel good spot for the Twolves and the city to get a win tonight. I expect max effort from an underrated team lead by the best player on the court in Towns.
ps. Yes management wants to tank. I don't expect 8 in a row but I expect Twolves to be competitive the remainder of the year starting tonight..

Wolves are tanking imo. Tied with Houston at the bottom. They shouldn¡¯t ruin a chance at the top 3 draft picks. Unless they want Bradley Beal. And even still the Wiz will want something from that draft in return so they¡¯re going to need to start this tanking tonight.

I agree that management is trying to get a bottom 3 pick. I think the players outside of Edwards care a lot about winning games. Towns has played multiple games with an injured wrist and said its because he wants to win games. Rubio was vocal at the trade deadline that he did not come here to lose. He has said he wants them to copy the suns trajectory as well. I think Edwards doesn't care and has said as much in interviews but I do think he will be motivated by rookie of the year honors. I think management will try to find a balance and do there best to get the best of both worlds. This is why I think they will be competitive and win some games but will not lose a bottom spot. They have a few games to give.
