Managers let their ace pitchers go the distance. They would not risk wasting a dominant effort by going to the bp too early. The Yankees lost this World Series when Boone decided to pull Cole in game one after a dominant performance after 84 pitches.
Agree my friend

The late great Fernando Valenzuela won game 3 in ¡®81 for La in a must win game down 2-0 to the yanks; great thing was back then we had no idea what the pitch count was since no one really cared!found out years later It was about 150 !

So they are not going to plat any more games? It is not a best of seven series this year? Good to know

It's amazing how one game can alter a series so much.
I originally expected Yankees to win game 1, lose game 2, and win 2 out of 3 in some combination in New York. Then they'd just have to win 1 out of the last 2 in LA.
Losing game 1 changed everything. Now they're either going to need to sweep the Dodgers at home, then take one of the two in LA, or win 2 out of 3 in NY, and sweep the last 2 in LA, when they just got swept in LA.
One game, one out, changes everything.

Al Lieter was 1-1 in 10 WS starts and Kevin Brown was 0-4.
Maybe you guys are too young to remember a guy named Jack Morris who threw a 10 inning 1-0 shut out in game 7 to win the WS for the Twinkies.
Morris was 4-2 in 7 WS starts with 3 complete games and the 10 inning shutout. Was 0-2 for the Blie Jays in 1992 and was injured for the 93 Series.
He and Randy Johnson were the two best pitchers in the World Series in my lifetime. Randy was 3-0 for the D Back in 01.
They sure don¡¯t make em like they used too. My grand father who was born in like 1900 pitched pro ball and would get $50 for a loss and $100 for a win. They did not have relievers back then. lol. How times have changed with these pitch counts.
