If you're looking to bet the early games, make sure to get to the book by 8am at the latest as the lines are always the longest before the first set of games each day.
Excalibur is a hold but Mandalay Bay is superb - other great sportsbooks are Ceasar's and the Palazzo. Planet Hollywood is also worth watching a game or two at as they set up these huge movie screens to watch the games on.
Chase tail at Tao in the Venetian, Pure at Ceasar's or Ghost Bar at the Palms and don't forget to foray to the pool at Hard Rock or Bare at the Mirage to see some free t!tt!ies.
The first two days are purely Mandalay Bay.......nothing like it in Vegas.....
All the major books are solid...lots of writers, lines moving pretty well....
Just remember: with the 3-hour time difference, games/bets moving every 20 minutes, full game/1st half/halftime...it flies!! Try not to sit there and stare at the board trying to make a decision....make your decisions early, set a line for your bets that you're happy with, if/when you get your number...move in and bet.
People who get shut out blame everyone else..BUT themselves. It happens at superbowl with the squares..but even moreso at March Madness because of the time factors. Sharps don't wait to bet at tipoff...and if you really think that you know what you're doing, you won't wait either.
