I'm a huge fan of the 1st weekend of MM. The last couple years, we've gone out Wed-Mon. With games on constantly Thur-Sun, it makes for a great time. So many games to choose from, usually everybody can find some team to get behind.
We've spent most of our time at the Hilton theater. Easy to get seats, good food, plenty of windows to get bets in with the satelite windows, free stuff give aways.
I also like the fact that the games are on all day all four days. It helps keep me away from the blackjack tables.

VG- I think Id do Mandalay for first weekend of MM from what I have heard next time I go. Like I just said on the other thread I made a huge mistake last time I was out for it leaving the orleans thinking hte strip would be better and not being able to enter the book at MGM or Bellagio. I think the Hilton would probably get a little swamped in the sports area during it I would stay away from there that specific weekend.
Will Mandalay's pool be open during first week of March Madness?
Id like to spend more time in Wynn/Venetian/Pallazo/Encore book areas (I consider those 4 casinos basically the same) and find the one of those I like most and check out City Centers books. Need to know what to expect if I am going to go somewhere during my favorite holiday of the year dont want to show up and be like this sucks and I dont want to be staying in Encore if I like Wynn's book better, defeats the purpose of paying to be in the same hotel as the book if you have to walk to the other one to get to your room.

I want to go for 2/3 weeks after Christmas, will prbably do Reno/Tahoe for skiing but if I cant spring for that Ill fly to LA instead and go to Vegas for most of the trip and be bumming around places like Tuscany Suites for 30 bucks a night.
Ahhhh sounds so good!

I don't know of any outdoor pools that are open that early....
Besides, remembering the time difference across the country, you can...literally...spend 18 hours at the sportsbook each day.

I live in SoCal and drove out for there for three straight weekends: championship weekend (Aria), 1st Round MM, (Mirage), and the Sweet 16, (MGM). A great time! For so many schools around the country, Spring Break falls on these weekends, and the Strip often has the feel of a giant keg party. The downside is the bumper crop of kids who get all lathered and can't handle their liquor. NOT fun.
