How do you guys handle Vegas for so many days...???

I think you're a local so my comments don't really apply to someone living in LV. But for 90% of visitors, we come to LV to party. I mean, that's what this city is. It's a huge adult playground. No, you don't have to drink and gamble together, but most do. And most people party alll day and all night when they're in this city. Where else can you do you wake up, roll out of your hotel and immediately see a group of four people drinking 5 foot daquaris at 9am in public? This only happens in Vegas and I think most people carry this lifestyle for the time that they're visiting.

Sure I understand how people physically can survive this town for a week's visit. They either pace themselves very well or they fall in the 10% (guessing) of tourists who visit just to see shows, relax, golf, dine, whatever. But knowing myself, and knowing what I beleive to be the dempgraphic on this overall forum, I keep finding it interesting that people have such long visits to LV. That begged me to ask the question how it's possible for so many.

And VG- One other thing...

I've seen numerous times that you comment on how you cannot understand why people connect drinking with gambling and I think I have a very logical answer. These folks that are asking about comps and what not are tourists. They are only in Vegas for a couple days and want of these pleasures to be at their fingertips at once! As a local, you separate these things as you can go bet  and enjoy a book whenever you like. As a visitor, and someone who is only in this great playground a handful of days per year, I can;t waste any time. The booze and the wagering must go together- otherwise I feel like I'm not maximizing my time in this great city!... and people ask specifically about comped items just cuz that's what they relate Vegas to - "the city that keep on giving."

bc....totally understand (and I have only been a local for a few years, was coming out here when the Strip really had sportsbooks and "the boys" pretty much ran this town...After all, our Mayor was a lawyer for them early on....

I can agree with most of your observations; however, I used to come out here for 10-day vacations, used some days for partying and some for relaxing...Vegas always did, and still does, give anyone anything that they want anytime that they want....

So, consequently, since I knew that I could have whatever I wanted, I was able to "moderate", so to speak, my aggressive days with my laid-back days. Anyone who comes out to this city more than 2-3 times should be able to learn how to enjoy what this town offers and how to come out of it ahead of the game and always wanting to come back.

To me Vegas is the ultimate escape.

I like to go with the Buds and pretend I am a young man again. Check out the girlies. Drink too much. Gamble too much. This is not my daily grind of gambling and percentages, it is just the fuck it burn the money shit. If I get comped cool but I am more out just to goof off, not worry, Get caught up in the adrenaline rush, get my mind off of work, the old lady, kids. Remeber the simpler days. If I blow 3 grand, not a big deal, I have it. I ONLY HOPE THAT IN THERE SOMEWHERE I HAD SOME SERIOUS FUN.

Now some will say that this is madness and I should go somewhere else and vacation somewhere else with that kind of scratch and I do!

But that is the kids vacation. No drinking. No gambling. No obnoxious behavior.

This is well put, it is the fucking rush of it all. If you live there, the rush is gone. The lights are not drawing you. You know how most of these people will lose.  The smoke is bothering you. The stale smell. The same books, waitresses, cashiers.

We are there for 3 days and going to party like rock stars

Your going there like its Spring Break. Not like that for everyone.  Which you should good for you Ive never rolled with my buddies Ive been alone betting sports and staying in cheap rooms.  Ive only gotten hammered one time at the pool and IDK if theres something in the food or drink mixers b/c it was a weird blackout and I woke up with shit, vomit, and the rest of hte room service food all over my hotel room and bathroom.

And thats not a normal product of me getting drunk.

ANd that was just from a few Lynchberg Lemonades poolside.

Maybe try and stick to Bud bottles.

If you want to pace yourself just play in a deepstack tourney and wait for premium hands.

Worst case scenerio you killed 5-10 hours and only spent $100-200.

Or go to the Bellagio and watch 7 hours of games bet $100 on the 7pm and $100 on the 10p.m. again killed the time betting but not killing yourself.

3 nights tops...unless you don't booze.  I usually kill myself the first night, get wasted....go to bars/clubs and dance all night....review the bet card at about 4 or 5 am again (after looking at it all day) then usually play some late night BJ.  I've had some good money makers late and also hit my biggest bet (parlay) while standing around the degenerates (at the book) when it first opened one morning after a all night bender.....

I dont recommend staying up all night....I'm going March 10th weekend....my goal is to go to be the night I get there.....
