Hey guys, a bunch of us boys from the Toronto area are heading down to Vegas for the first week of the NFL season, just have a few questions and would appreciate any help you could provide:
How early should we hit the sportsbooks prior to games in order to get seats for the CFB Sat and the NFL Sun? I think our Sportsbook of choice will probably be the Bellagio
Also would love to know of any cheap locations for food and drink?...we aren't really gonna hit the clubs too much as that isn't our thing, we'd rather go to a pub/bar thats not too expensive and relax
Anybody been to O'sheas? I hear they have Happy Hour 24/7...but is this just a Casino or do they actually have a bar there too?
And last but not least, you can just take alcoholic drinks on to the strip and walk around with them? Seems weird to me as that isn't too common around here, hopefully this is true though that would be awesome
Thanks

I don't know how big your group is but you'll need to hit the books early to get seats. The noon games in the eastern time zone on Saturday will be at 9 a.m. Vegas time, and on Sunday the N.F.L. games will be kicking off at 10 Vegas time, so bear that in mind.
O'Sheas is an okay place, they do run alot of drink specials, I don't know if they have an actual bar, the place is a bit of a hole in the wall.
You can walk around anywhere you want in Vegas with alcohol and nobody will bat an eye. Matter of fact they might look at you funny if you don't have a drink.

Just 4 of us going down, so not a huge group by any means, I guess we should try and arrive about 2 hours in advance of the games? Its not like we wont have anything to do

If you guys are going to lay a good amount of cash then make sure you get VIP treatment. If you're not going to lay allot get there at least 1;45 minutes before game.If you go to Cesars it will be like going to the game, lots of crazy fans there.

Not a crazy amount of cash. A bunch of young guys just getting out of college who will probably only bet $50-$100 a game. We are just looking for a good atmosphere and a book that wont be afraid to give us the free drink service. Seems like the Bellagio is the way to go.

Although my avatar suggests otherwise, I live in Southern California, about 4 hr drive from Vegas. I love Vegas and I love sports betting - I take weekend trips out there about once every 2 months. Although sportsbooks are not necessarily the focus of my trips, I though I'd comment on your inquiries...

- If you're at a big, popular book like the Bellagio, I recommend getting there as early as possible for premium seats. When I go for games, I wont kill my vacation by waiting in a book for my games to start, but enjoying a few cocktails for an hour or two prior would liekly be beneficial
Also would love to know of any cheap locations for food and drink?...we aren't really gonna hit the clubs too much as that isn't our thing, we'd rather go to a pub/bar thats not too expensive and relax
Well, that's kind of a tough one cuz I wouldnt say there's much difference in price between one bar/pub to the other on the strip. Nine Fine irishmen at NYNY can be cool if you like the Irish theme. Coyote Ugly, also at NYNY, can also be sweet if you want to stare at some amazingly hot ladies dancing aroung (but lookout- there tends to be tons of dudes there). For cheap drinks, i always love to go play video BJ or poker at the video bars in any casino. Usually they offer you a comped drink right when you sit down as long as you're playing or about to play. Sometimes they end up paying you to drink!

Osheas is a crack-up. Dinky little cheap casino in the middle of the strip with tons of people and action. It's a total whole in the wall but it can be fun when you're 15 drinks deep! They even usually have this midget dressed as a leprechaun running around pouring shots down peoples throat!

Yes you can. Open containers are allowed on the strip. Not sure about the county/state in general, but who cares.
