First time to Vegas: Advice?

cheapest poker tourney i found in LV is at the Excalibur ---- $35, the drawback is the blinds clock goes quickly here and you will be "all in" by the 3rd clock. Other tourneys are a little more pricey but the clock runs slower so u will be able to play more marginal hands

Try the buffet at planet hollywood. They have a large selection of different foods from different countries. Get the 25% coupon discount that is passed out and it will run the two of you about $15 each.

Had a nice run with sports betting... turned my 1,200 trip to vegas fund into $2,000.

Think I'm upgrading from excalibur to NYNY.

- Poker by day, sports betting/bars by night.

I'll be in Vegas from April 17 to April 22.

Stoked!!!

NY/NY is becoming a fave of mine...especially the new Sporting House (the old ESPN Zone)....great hdtv's, super sight-lines, good bar food and upgraded menu...nice selection on draft (a little pricey)....2 floors....tv's at the booths.....20 feet to the sportsbook...was there on Sunday, they have a new, state-of-the-art betting kiosk in the restaurant area....no problem making a halftime bet...

Glad to hear it. Definitely going with NYNY. Will probably order flight tix and hotel first weekend in February.

Hungry...

The Mexican restaurant, Gonzalez y Gonzalez has the best salsa in the state of Nevada....eat at the bar...hdtv's....

The deli, Greenberg's has superior pastrami sandwiches

The New Burger Bar will rival anyone's burgers....eat at the bar, large hdtv's

Even the Fulton Fish place has outstanding fish/chicken and chips...

Happy hour at Il Fornaio...at the bar...great thin crust pizzas for $7

Take my advice and you won't go home "hungry"

best bet for your roll as far as poker tourneys go, i think mgm runs a decent 55 $ tourny or luxor has some decent little sng tournys . we are heading down in a few days found an awesome rate at aria, about 15$ / night more than excalibur . 5 star place, i hear its a sweet property. look into it on expedia

i would personaly stay away from buffets, you could grab a coffee from the gaming floor and then walk down to ellis island ( from ny ny probably 45 min ) . get a good feed then your right down middle of strip. found this little ge just a few years ago after having gone down about 10 times. deff worth the walk in my opionion . then for an afternnon snack just hit up subway. there are a few decent bufftets on the strip, but excalibur isnt one of them

i do enjoy the book at excalibur, seems to always be the same sharps there year after year. nothing fancy, just like the fell of it. hope this helps. tuff not to have a great time in vegas . win or lose hit the booze
