I live near Sacramento, Ca. I go to Reno & Tahoe maybe once a month. I would stick with Las Vegas. I don't know anything about laughlin, But Reno is a hole in the wall. If you are coming North I suggest South Lake Tahoe. One hour car ride from Reno Airport. Alot cleaner and the Lake is beautiful. Harrah's casino would be my recommendation.
But from the East coast my only destination would be Las Vegas

Gotta tell you, nc1.........
If it wasn't for Las Vegas, I would not have moved out here. Nevada is just not one of those states that offers much quality of life....unless I like mountains, fishing, hunting (lots of guns), a top-tier RV, etc etc....and that's just not me.

Reno is quality. The Peppermill is as good as any casino awesome sportsbook with plently of individual TVs. Id stay here or the Atlantis. Downtown Reno is cool 5 or 6 casinos within walking distance and easy parking I dont htink you need to stay there but the rooms at Harrahs, El Dorado, Silver Legacy, adn Circus arent bad. The Nuggett and Grand Sierra are isolated very nice casinos but I think Id go for Peppermill or Atlantis to stay.
If you like downtown vegas you will LOVE reno.
Im hoping in January to go for a few weeks during football playoffs and bouncce back and forth between Tahoe and maybe go down to LA for a few days. Dont really want to spend money renting a huge SUV to get to the mountains though I dunno how a little economy will do getting me to Kirkwood.
