wow. if the guy is intelligent he'll stop robbing the casinos all of which are probably on high alert by now. I can't believe he did it twice in a month. But what do I know, he has more money than I do

How the guy runs through a casino with a gun in his hand, robs a table, and then runs out of the casino... without facing any resistance is beyond me

I know this dude will be dumb enough to cash those chips at once.

Serious though, what would be the safest way to cash that in?

Even if he just cashed the 25k chips one at a time, security will be suspicious if they see him on surveillance walking in their casino and just cashing in one chip.

No doubt any run of the mill stripper can easily cash a $5,000 chip without too much wrangle, but those $25k ones might require the services of an out-of-work C-list actress

He can wait a couple years and then bring in 25 or 30 thousand cash and buy chips....play a little bit then cash out....then he can cash in the 25k chip with the rest....

Also, i doubt that there where that many 25k chips just sitting on the table....most were probably 100-1,000

you cant do anything with them. theyre all microchipped and tracked. the cranberries are even more scrutinized than the flags we use. even if you try and cash them at another casino they still call and verify and write down your info unless they know you. he could probably use the blacks but thats about it the rest are worthless

What if the casino had new chips made in the next couple weeks and announced that as of 1/15/11 or whatever, the old chips would have no value or could only be exchanged for accommodations/meals??

I just saw this story on the news... and they played the video footage from the robbery. The guy is doing a slow job through the casino at best... Hilarious

Whoa - he got caught. Not surprising but he made it for a while before getting caught but maybe they were just making their case. 15k is rather low for bail.

He not only cashed those chips in, he was also staying at the Bellagio. Being com'd no less as a high roller using casino's chips he had stolen. Went through over $100,000 of stolen chips. Las Vegas Reveiw Journal, 2/04/11.

Vegas is so ahead of the game, when it comes to security. Oceans 11 gave the Casino's way to much credit.

Trying to sell chips to an undercover. Looking for smarts, don't go to Vegas. Someone will tell you, he wasn't from Las Vegas but 99% of that city's inhabitants are from somewhere else.
