I recently bought a small position in Ford (1/3 of a normal investment position) purely on the technicals, alone (Dec. 6th @ $10.49). This stock has traded in a range between $10-$15 for the better part of the last 2 years. (and yes, I've noted it pierced the $10 support level today).
If you look at a 5-year chart, you can see this stock makes some pretty violent moves for such a well-established blue chip company. The Goal is to make 40% on my money in the next 12-18 months (~$14.75 exit price). I won't sell it if it doesn't achieve this goal, because this stock isn't going anywhere, and this is a small position at only 1/3 a normal investment size.
I very rarely buy a stock on the technicals, but I've noted the Ford price action because it's on my daily stock screener.

Only thing we have to worry about is the dirty bombs that our enemies are planting around the country. GOD forbid, then market will get hit hard, I am praying for all that we can have peace & love in the world.

I have not looked into F in a while. It never makes any of my screening for day trades and rarely pops up for long trades.
Just with a quick glance from the technicals, all of the MAs look bearish and a couple of stochastics look like a buy and the MACD still a sell.
I would like to see it hold this 10ish area for a bit. If not I think it goes back to 9.7-9.8 area. If it holds that I think it would be a buy opportunity.
But good luck to you and I will keep up with this and watch for a few days to see how it holds up here.

To all that are following F only my opinion wait until they perfect electric cars. Most in industry have invested large amounts of money. Maybe in 10 years but other systems will be better like hydrogen, nobody knows, playing stock market is harder than sports betting. Politics controls it, you need to pick when they are in their infancy & hope for the best. A lot of corruption going on, stay with companies that show profits if you must. Motley Fool has good ideas if you need to advice. Lots of luck to all

What a monster NVDA has been .. I follow the markets daily , so I know what kind of incredible run it's had for quite awhile, now... I don't own any shares directly, but am happy w/ my exposure indirectly through my S&P 500 Index holdings. I also own a lot of Vanguard's High Dividend Yield Index ETF (VYM), my largest index holding . Surprisingly, it owns Broadcom (AVGO) as its largest holding, and also a big AI play. So, I'm getting plenty of exposure to the AI growth, as well as holdings in AMZN & GOOGL. What surprises me about VYM owning AVGO is that the stock is not a true "high dividend" stock. It's more a dividend growth stock, and have noted VYM changing its stripes just a tad, as a result. Not complaining, because AVGO has contributed greatly to the growth of VYM, but something I have noted..

Rush51 you're rite I also have same plays. I just think that NVDA is a good long-term play. Will hit 10 trillion market cap, Good time to add onto your positions after sell off today. Trump has Tough Road ahead but I have faith will be big bull run.

Thank you for the kind word, Raiders.. And great points on the MAs. The Trend is definitely not my friend, but I was willing to jump in (obviously too early), but at 1/3 of a normal position, and as infrequently as I do technical trades, I'm comfortable w/ the small gamble.

The EV market is truly going through its "growing pains," and building cars is a very capital intensive business as you pointed out. Just earlier this year, Ford shuttered plans for additional EV production plants because of lackluster demand. Combine that with 'cheaters' in China like BYD, who have their steel cost subsidized by the communists, and you are looking at a competitive disadvantage in EV markets outside the U.S. That's not a good scenario.
But at the end of the day, I was just focused on the technical range of this stock, and was willing to dismiss any fundamental reasons for not owning the stock..

Years ago during the crash I got a position in F around 2ish.
Was so glad when it ran up to around 5 and I sold and was so happy.
It then promptly went on up to 15 or so. Then I was so disappointed.
I have never forgiven F for that.
I never forget it. That is why I learned a longterm buy should always have a decent trailing stop if you are not holding for the dividend or something.
A situation where you can go from looking like a genius to a moron very quickly.

Raiders22 good for you. Here's one that I was chasing & kept buying, BLDP Ballard Power SYS 7/28/03 1000 shares @ $12.96 kept buying eventually owned 7000 shares. they didn't have any stock channels on TV @ that time. Got news from Wall Street Journal. Was going to sell and create loss for tax purposes, it was below .50 cents. Said the hell with-it. After 13 years look in wall st & it was around 13-14 dollars. I was jumping for joy sold it around 13

I can relate, Raiders.... I bought SMH in late 2022 when it was around $80 (and pretty close to its bottom) when big tech was crashing. I sold it for around $120 (I think it was) about 6 months later. Knowing that the semiconductor industry is cyclical and goes through phases where supply/demand fluctuates, I ignored the broader "secular" theme that was playing out with AI, and took the easy profit. Kicking myself on that one !
But I did begin a position in NFLX & CRM at the same time, which have since taken off nicely.

At least you're collecting those nice dividends with Ford, and I'm sure NVDA has been a monster gain for you !
