2011 American Buffalo Gold Coin

Have any of you guys seen the commercial for the 2011 American Buffalo Gold coin?

Supposedly it has a $50 face value, but they offer it for $10 per coin.

Is this coin legal tender?

Why would they basically give you $50 for $10?

Am I missing something?

I saw the commercial this morning, but failed to get the correct website for it. I'll see if I can dig it up. Just wondering if I am understanding this correctly.

I believe it's just coated in gold...not 100% sure...but they are tricky with the way they talk about the coin, saying gold stamped, or gold plated.

either way...if it's too good to be true, it's bs

I would say its basically a worthless coin and I would definetly not recommend buying it.
