Why did covers get rid of the message boards?

Hi mandy1! Are you referring to the private message system? If so it was purely due to technical reasons.

I am collecting some information on this. What is the primary reason you used it?

I used it to comunicate with fellow betters without putting the message out where everybody could see it. Nobody can critize it just me and the person I sent it to. This was a very helpful tool on covers and I miss it alot! And I feel other people used it also!
