Minus 5 seems a bit light.. Although fairly low total

Yes -5 seems light.  It seems too easy which always worries me. 

Go Navy Beat Army!  I reside 15 minutes from the academy  I went to soccer camp there in 1986 and saw David Robinson on campus

Army has the better squad this year but history shows rarely does one side spank the other, if it gets to 6 i'll take Navy and feel pretty good about it.

The -5 is probably due to this game being historically close in score.

Personally I don¡¯t look at previous seasons to cap a game this season. Army is just better at all three levels. 

The total of 40, again because the game is historically low scoring.

But, this isn¡¯t last season. We are talking about this season. Navy could not score on Tulane earlier in the season. Army just ate their lunch.

Hard to not like Army here, but will probably be a ML parlay peace for me.  One of the best teams they have ever fielded, but both these teams know how to defend the triple option inside and out.  Turnovers, typically fumbles, tend to decide the outcome between these two.  The under is usually easy money, but I have a hunch the over hits with 2 pretty good offenses.

Essentially a double play on Army spread.

It is a "small" line because the game is held at the Redskins home stadium, which is about 25 miles from the Navy campus.  It is an unofficial "home" game for Navy.

As mentioned by Underdog, one of the overlooked,factors is,both  teams know,the option game and,have,defended it at practices.. And being undersized, they happen to have the right personnel defend,it.other teams,aren't going to change3-4 starters,just for 1 game. Too little practice time and,too disruptive

Everybody¡¯s basing this off their matchup history. That¡¯s fine and all, but that¡¯s just one variable and one that isn¡¯t necessarily attached to either of these two teams.

I¡¯ve watched 9 Navy games and 10 Army games this season. I hope that when people are typing up their threads and posts, they¡¯re actually their own first hand evidence when it comes to capping.

Army rushes 86.55%, while Navy rushes 75.42% of the time.

Navy passes 24.58%, while Army just 13.45%

Daily is actually an even better thrower than Horvath, which shows in the completion percentage advantage: Army 59.09%, Navy 56.52%

3rd down conversion: Army 48.15%, Navy 34.45%

3rd down conversion ALLOWED: Navy 41.01%, Army 41.86%

So Army is clearly better in 3rd down offensive efficiency while the defensive stats show the two teams are just about a draw. 

Let¡¯s go to the Red Zone. 

Army scores touchdowns 92.11% of the time they make it into the RZ, while Navy scores at a 83.33% clip (not shabby but yet another advantage).

How about defensively?

Army allows their opponents to score TD¡¯s just 58.06% of the trips into the RZ, while Navy allows touchdowns on 72.22% of the time.
