Daivien Williamson poured in a career-high 28 points and Dallas Walton racked up 20 points and 12 rebounds as Wake Forest completed the regular season with a 101-76 victory over North Carolina State on Wednesday night in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Wake Forest (23-8, 13-7 ACC), which will be the No. 5 seed for next week's ACC Tournament in New York, capped a remarkable turnaround under second-year coach Steve Forbes.
Alondes Williams recorded 17 points and 11 assists and Isaiah Mucius notched 12 points to help the Demon Deacons shoot 60.9 percent from the field on the way to their most points in a game this season. Sixty of the points came in the second half.
Terquavion Smith racked up 22 points and Jericole Hellems scored 18 points for NC State (11-19, 4-15). Casey Morsell and Jaylon Gibson each had 10 points, but the Wolfpack is stuck in a last-place tie with Georgia Tech.
The score was tied at 48 early in the second half before the Demon Deacons pulled away. Williamson made the last two baskets in an 11-0 run.
NC State had no answers on the interior as Walton racked up big numbers and foul trouble began to cripple the Wolfpack. Wake Forest had a stretch of making 10 of 12 shots from the field.
Williamson finished 10-for-14 from the field (5-for-7 on 3s) and Walton was 8-for-9 from the floor. The Demon Deacons built a 42-27 rebounding advantage.
Smith made five of NC State's 12 baskets from 3-point range, but that didn't prevent Wake Forest from sweeping a pair of matchups this season.
NC State used a 9-0 run to take a brief lead late in the first half before the Demon Deacons held a 41-40 halftime edge.
NC State, which finishes the regular-season slate Saturday at Florida State, fell to 0-5 in games against in-state opponents.
