Oklahoma City Thunder @ Memphis Grizzlies
On Monday I was a depressed child. I won nearly $1,500 on that day but my Thunder fell short in a game they could have absolutely robbed from the Grizzlies. Even though I had Memphis +7 for a large sum, I was rooting for the Thunder ever since 6 minutes into the game. Why? Because the way Memphis came out I knew the cover would never be in jeopardy, and all I could do at that point was root for a Thunder SU win. I had a very strong feeling the Grizzlies would win that game, but the Thunder stormed back and had a chance to steal one even though Memphis outplayed them from the opening tip. If the Thunder ended up winning that game, that would have been the most demoralizing loss ever for the Grizzlies and I would have went on to say the Thunder would have swept them 4-0 or 4-1.
But with that overtime win, the Grizzlies have now been given life. The Grizzlies didn't just win a game on the road, they overcame MANY obstacles while doing so. A late Thunder run, overtime on the toughest homecourt in the NBA, an incredible Durant 4 point play to pull them within 1. All those late runs by the Thunder just made that win for the Grizzlies that more meaningful. The Grizzlies confidence will now be soaring through the roof, and now there playing on there homecourt where they havn't lost since February 5th (79 days ago). It's unfortunate, but I don't expect a bounceback game from my Thunderz tonight.
Indiana Pacers @ Atlanta Hawks
It's crazy how one quarter of play can change the perception of the whole betting world. The Pacers went on an 19-0 run in the third quarter and now there supposed to be some powerhouse team again. Outside of that 3rd quarter, the Hawks have outscored the Pacers 560-535 this year. If anyone watched game 2, you would know it wasn't something Pacers did in the second half that was any different then previous play, the Hawks were just missing wide open jumpers. I don't expect them to shoot so poorly again. The Pacers have been good at home all year, but on the road? Give me the Hawks.
