About Rampart Casino
Located in Las Vegas, the property opened in 1999 as the Resort at Summerlin. Over the years, it's undergone several name changes, including the Regent Las Vegas and JW Marriott Las Vegas. Today, the 50,000-square-foot venue boasts over 1,300 slot machines, 24 table games, and a 300-seat bingo room.
Visitors can also enjoy the Rampart Race & Sportsbook, with five self-service kiosks, 80 HD televisions, and a 55-foot LED screen. However, Nevada bettors are not short of retail books, as Rampart is one of more than 200 Nevada sports betting locations.
Nevada gaming laws
Of course, the Gambling Capital of the World is home to several legal gaming options. In addition to the vast selection of sportsbooks, the state has more than 200 land-based casinos, including around 45 located in the Vegas strip area.
However, Nevada has yet to legalize iGaming. As of 2024, only seven states are authorized to offer online casinos, including Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and West Virginia.
But online poker is different. The state legalized online poker in 2013, after which Caesars Entertainment launched WSOP.com in Nevada. As of May 2024, this platform now combines player pools from Nevada, New Jersey, and Michigan into one.
