Epsom Derby and Juddmonte International champion City of Troy faltered in his dirt experiment as Sierra Leone took advantage of an incredibly fast pace to pick up the pieces and take the $7 million Breeders' Cup Classic.

Breeders' Cup track overview
Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in Del Mar, CA will host the Breeders' Cup for the fourth time in 2025. The main oval is one mile around, and a round trip of their turf course is seven furlongs (7/8ths of a mile).
Del Mar typically hosts two meetings: a summer one that begins in mid-July and lasts through mid-September, and an autumn one that starts in late October or early November and ends in early December. The 42nd renewal of the Breeders' Cup is set for Oct. 31 & Nov. 1, 2025.
