Hoping to hear your thoughts on this bet: Chiefs to win the Super Rugby Grand Final. $4.50.
I understand that this is a big ??? and anything can happen from now until July/August, but I always enjoy having a go on a season-long futures bet after the first few weeks. I was originally intending to back the Brumbies, but after watching the Chiefs for the first month-and-a-half, I see aspects and intangibles on that team that I haven't witnessed on any of the other competing sides.
Their team speed, cohesion on attack/defence & defence/attack shift, and their ability to counter-attack with turnover ball at a blazing rate are all tops in the comp, IMO. To me, this signals a comp winner.
Add in the fact that they are currently 5-1 and top of the comp after traveling across the planet through four different countries playing five road contests. This is no fluke!
The other contenders are the Brumbies, Highlanders, Stormers, and we'll throw in the omnipresent Crusaders for good measure.
The Chiefs have already dispatched shaky Brumbies and Crusaders sides. The Highlanders could or could not be for real again. The Stormers look great on defence, but can't score for shit and have played a terribly weak schedule. And that is a worry. The Stormers, despite their massive injury bill, could top the table by default due to playing all piss-poor sides all season long. This might send the Chiefs to Cape Town for a finals match.
Anyway, there is my thought processes. Anything that you have to add I would love to hear and WHY. Am I missing something at this stage in the tournament? As I said before, nobody knows what the months ahead will bring, but I like picking a side for the entire comp and I like choosing wisely.
Thanks guys.

NZ Team to win @ $1.85 with Unibet is the best bet imo. Chiefs are great but so are the Saders, Landers & Canes.
I'd bet my house on this, but unfortunately for me I live in the Land of the Free, and thus, my betting options are limited. I cannot get these kinds of props at the very few books who will take my action.

And I WANT to hear from the forum legends and those who follow Super Rugby. This is a yearly tradition for me, wagering on a season winner in April, and I am proud to have the members on this forum's input!

I hit on the year the Bulls won it. Then I was on the Reds twice in-a-row with the Quade machine when they blew it twice with injuries and other nonsense. Last season I wasn't even close with the Crusaders.
Wanna get back to my winning (guessing) form and hit this season!
Thanks guys!
You have a free wager. Who do you back as of today? Tell me!

Like I said, this is tough this time of season. But have to pick one to get value.
Like the intangibles I've seen with the Chiefs. Hopefully the gods are kind to them and they keep travelling well. Their fitness is second-to-none so stay away injury bug!

Ended up going with the Chiefs for the chocos before the kick-off of the Blues match-up.
$4.50 for a nice lump of change in August. Great to see me get rewarded with a sweet bonus-point win a few hours later.
If only the Force could've held on against the Saders. Man, did their line-outs and scrums let them down. How do you get penalized on your own scrum with three minutes left inside your own 22!!! Win that scrum and clear the ball. Game over. Ridiculous.
