Journalism has been over with CNN a long time ago. This is a prime example of trying to be first instead of trying to be accurate and correct with journalism. Media needs a check and nobody should ever trust CNN after this. Their stance on politics should be completely questioned after this disaster.

 Later CNN research discovered that the man in prison gave a false identity.  CNN did acknowledge its error in reporting on chaos in Syria.  That is what reputable journalists do.  Unlike Fox news repeated lying about Dominion voting machines which lead to massive loss in defamation lawsuit.

Trump can't stop playing the victim act.  He promotes a myth that the world is ripping off the US.  Actually, US dollar as world currency allows US to take great advantage of cheap goods and loans from other countries.  Canada is subsidizing the US because of trade surplus benefiting Americans.  US shipping benefits from time and cost savings of Panama canal.  Polls show vast majority of people in other countries don't want to join the US.

Panama was brought up because there is a drought and less ships go thru the canal now, like 20 less or so.  Saw a cost of $4Mill and China owns rights to ports on both sides where ships have to wait/anchor in line.  Again, just stirring the pot and if nothing happens then it's just a complaining point

According to Miami herald, Trump threats to Panama, Greenland and Canada may just be a distraction from real problems.  For examples, US healthcare, climate crisis, shooting epidemic and income inequality.  Demagogues tend to fabricate conflicts with imaginary enemies to pose as savior of the father land.  So Trump is trying to create foreign enemies to please xenophobes  in his party.
