Anyways....my legitimate beef is with your sportsbook. Can you answer a few questions. Please don't give me a sugar coated answer or beat around the bush. I basically want you to admit that Bodog uses every single advantage it has as a sportsbook to get the upper hand on it's players. There is no other way around it. Here it goes.
1) Why are lines released late. Only a select few NBA lines are released the night before with no totals available, when the MAJORITY of books release almost all NBA, College Basketball, and NHL lines the night before along with totals. College basketball totals aren't released until 2 hours before tip off at most times, which leads me to my next point.
2) Why aren't all totals for College Basketball released? I'd say at the most 20% of totals are available to play.
3) Why aren't the majority of College Basketball money lines available to play? Very limited selection available for money lines. Money lines are never released for lines with spreads 1 to 3, or lines higher than 10. These are offered at other books.
4) Why are so many lines circled? It seems like Bodog is scared to get exploited by its players, but by doing this they are really exploiting the players.
The late releasing of lines, or no release of lines, or circled lines are very frustrating. This happens a lot on a daily basis. You don't see this to that extent at other notable sportsbooks.
Bodog has great software, timely grading, and decent customer service. Payouts are made to me in 4 days, which is great. If only you guys kept up with the competition on your sports lines and their availability, you would separate yourselves from the competition. It needs to be done.
In response to the poker rigging comments:
As operators, the Bodog Brand licensees take a rake from poker players so individual player wins and losses make no difference to them. Therefore, it is in their interest for the system to be transparent and fair as this will in fact grow player numbers and liquidity leads to further liquidity. There is absolutely no upside for any of the Bodog Brand licensees to rig their poker- in fact, it's quite the opposite.
In response to the sportsbook comments:
Yes, "Bodog" has a very conservative bookmaking philosophy:
-lines for most sports are posted late to reduce the risk of sides and middles
-lines that get little handle or have few sources, such as non-TV college basketball game totals, may not get published at all
-moneylines for spreads under 3, where spread and moneylines converge, or over 10, where there is a lot of added risk from big payoffs, are not offered
-some of the circles are due to software limitations involving correlation between large spreads and relatively low totals that is being worked on but in a lot of cases its simply to limit the compound effect of a player parlaying a risky line into numerous wagers, with a total far greater than the limit for a single
-wager limits are generally lower than "Bodog" competitors as well, although I don¡¯t see that listed as one of your issues
For 90% of "Bodog" players, these decisions are not an issue, but the Bodog Brand licensees know for some players such as yourself these are a serious inconvenience, and they have no problems saying "Bodog" is not the right book for you if you need early lines, some of the bets "Bodog" doesn't offer or large limits. The Bodog Brand licensees know these decisions cost them players and thus handle and winnings, although I am not sure how that can be translated as exploiting players.
The #1 obligation of all Bodog Brand licensees is to be profitable and thus ensure player balances are safe and available at all times and they feel a conservative bookmaking approach is the right business decision.
