The best Bonanza episode

Season 6, episode 1.  " Invemtion of a Gunfighter."

This episode in particular showcases the GOAT, Michael Landons incredible acting talents.  He played opposite, a tremendous actor in his own right, Guy Stockwell, older brother of the film star, Dean.  The transformation, that takes place in just a 48 minute episode (minus the 12 minutes of commercials).  This was an era when television was done right.

What makes this especially meaningful was that this was the first episode of season 6, which was Pernell Robert's (Adam Cartwright) final season as he wanted to move on to serious acting.  

Normally, when a major piece is taken off the cast, the show begins to decline.  It didn't happen here though as Michael Landon stepped up hi game and kept the show number 1 for 2 more years and kept the show running for a total of 14 seasons in all.  431 episodes and I've seen 431, my knowledge on great television,  music and movies is the equivalent of 10,000 of you trolls
