DID DAN CAMPBELL MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION 4 & INCHES

Ok let¡¯s not go into the other 4th down conversions but bring the last 4 & inches. I bet on Detroit and won the play however I do not agree with the decision to go for it on 4th & inches, instead of kicking the go ahead field goal with 40seconds left! They missed on the play before at 3rd & inches and I think this decision to go for it was utterly dumb! They would have given the ball back to Love at the 30yard line with 38 seconds left with no timeouts and I would have backed the defence to get the job done from there! 

I know they won but me, myself, personally think he made the wrong call going for it. Goff slipped and was lucky to get the ball of. I would have been happier them going up by 3 with 38seconds left with no timeouts left and backed the defence. 

What does everyone think? Campbell got very lucky with his calls today and made the wrong decision on the 4th inches call at the end of the game. Or he made the right decision?

 Made sense to me. That end of game call was understandable and logical. The first one was straight up lunacy

The last call is when you question your defense's ability to stop the other team.  No, it was the wrong call, but it worked this time.

It was risky and it almost didn¡¯t work on a trip or step on QB foot. They keep getting lucky¡­. Will make playoff run interesting¡­. He will cry either way but I guess we will find out why in playoffs¡­.

I think he saw it as this.

the odds of getting a yard from Montgomery running behind Sewell was greater than stopping love from getting into fg range in thirty seconds.

thats just a tie, but in OT anything can happen and a coin flip and blown coverage equals a loss.

what he did was make a call that if successful will ensure a team win with no chance of gb being able to touch the ball.

how many times have you seen teams leave time for Kansas City and it ended poorly? Or play to not lose? That¡¯s not what Dan Campbell did and those players and fans have to respect that. He does this all the time. Even when 3-13 he did it against Philly in his first game coaching.  He did it in the nfc championship game (btw I was more mad he kicked the fg right before halftime). 

at some point fans, teams, pundits, and announcers will realize that¡¯s MCDC and stop being surprised 

Plus, if it¡¯s 4th and 1 and in fg range you know the defense is thinking ¡°don¡¯t go off sides¡±, ¡°they are just baiting us¡±.  The offense line has the advantage because you can¡¯t jump the snap. Goff fell and Montgomery still got 7 because the oline was. Across the line before the dline even got up. 

Even if they kick the field goal, packers would probably take it to OT anyway with the way the defense was playing 

It was the wrong call cuz green bay ain't had no timeouts left, but that's the way Campbell coaches and he ain't gonna change for nobody.  On the road against the noners in the nfc championship it backfired last year, but that last year and this time they going to get #1 seed, so he gonna do it his way and it probably going to work and the lions get to superbowl but not sure they win it against Buffalo bulls 

Wrong decision that worked out IMO.

 All it would have took was 2 completions and green bay probably in field goal range . Lions defense was folding like a cheap lawn chair 

Worked now. He will cost his team again in playoffs like nfc title game last year 

Bad decision. Kick fg.  35 seconds left no time outs.  Going to ot is rare. GB actually winning with a td is even rarer.

Wrong call that worked out. In season game it¡¯s somewhat acceptable. When you gamble in the playoffs like that and get it wrong, you go home and the season ends. It¡¯ll be interesting to see if gambling Dan pulls these stunts in the playoffs. 

It's a great day when Hollywood Nick posts, you know I luv ya bro.  Thing about Detroit to consider is that these assistant coaches, particularly Johnson and Glenn are going to be head coaches for other teams next year.  So they are going to be balls deep every game this year.  I have no doubt they get past Philly and into the super bowl, but in the grand finale not sure if they'll get the Lombardi trophy.

 Trick plays and gambling.  Not a good recipe that will make it to the finals.    He¡¯s a smart guy and knows a lot more than us so if he has to gamble that might mean he knows he had to gamble to win which is not a good thing cuz it will eventually catch up to him.
