Wynn Tower Suites Post Trip Commentary..

Hi all:

Well I came back from vegas and staying in Wynn Tower Suites for 5 nights. They comped us 3/5 nights since my lady hit small
jackpot last time and gave us $500 freeplay. First night we turned freeplay in to about $400 cash CASHING OUT AFTER EVERY WIN; got very lcuky on 2 spins. Room was beautiful but they still charged $550 for one night and $350 for 2nd night (giving us 3 free nights).

Sportsbook at Wynn SUCKED!!!  Drink tickets and would not give some top shelf stuff either (Bellagio  NO DRINK TICKETS).
To get a  1 drink ticket at the Wynn you need to bet ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?? $300 on a sports game!!! WOW!!!
Thing is if you bet just $10 at racebook they will give you a drink ticket. So I bet like $5 across the board ($15 ticket) on one of favorites for many races. Lost only $7 doing this for a bunch of races and got drink like this.
Other thing I HATE about Wynn and Encore is seating for sports and screens showing games are TINY!! Small area!
3rd Thing I hate is they do not comp at bar when you play video poker machines. They do at like every other casino in Vegas.
Girls on floor at Wynn would not bring me more than 1 drink as well when playing slots. Almost ALL other casinos will.
Hottub outside at Wynn was a pissy lukewarm 99 degree F. Terrible as well. I will not be staying there again anyway.
Buddy at bellagio told me that Steve Wynn went way above his head with WYNN IN VEGAS AND IS LOSING MONEY THERE!!
He is only making money in the Macau Wynn! Who the fuck is going to buy a rolex, cartier, or Ferrari from his overpriced shops
when you can find great deals all over on those products in this hard economy?!?!  All 5 days I went by those shops at different times and on weekends and saw like NOBODY SHOPPING IN THERE! Wake the hell up Steve, country is in a depression! Stop nickle and diming you cheap bastard!
Machines also seemed soooooooooooooo much tighter than last time. I know many will argue this and say they all have RNG's
(Random Number Generators = Black Box) and it's purely luck
But I swear these machines were ALL as tight as the local indian
casinos. Hmm????

Sorry for your disappointment.....But, to play "devil's advocate," I think that your expectations were much too high just because you were staying at The Wynn.

No one in this forum, to my knowledge, has ever advocated their sportsbook; your tipoff to the problem was being charged as much as you were charged for 2 nights..regardless of the comping of 3 nights.

As I have mentioned too many times in this forum, the sportsbook and the racebook are two separate businesses...some places, like The SouthPoint, even have separate managers for both operations. The consequences, to the bettor, is the drink policy. If you're looking to get drunk for free, bet the ponies...period. Every $10 bet earns the racebook at least $1.50...the rest goes to the racetrack's mutuel pools. They are happy to keep you drinking and betting...and you might even tip the writers some spare change!!!

And, yes, both Steve Wynn and Sheldon Adelson (Pallazzo and Venetian) are making (you say losing) less money than they ever have before in Vegas and are expanding their operations in Macau.....The stores, however, for the most part, have nothing to do with their revenue....they are there as a convenience to their guests....

And, trust me, the guests that DO buy their Rolex and Cartier watches still do...and have no need for free drinks. Yes we are in a recession, and yes..the bettor bets less $$$ (not necessarily makes less bets) than before; but try not to take it out on Las Vegas....start with Bush Junior first.....OK?

Macau is the "future" for BOTH Wynn and Adelson. Wynn went so far as to say that "the business climate is more stable in (Communist) China". YA SURE, Stevey, until the Commies get a wild hair up their ass and do a Castro in 1959 to your ASS!!! Adelson at least has an operation in Singapore to go along with Macau. it's one big reason I took a chance on LVS stock back in March of 2009 when it was in the sewer.

I dont' know ANY local that has gone back to the Wynn after one visit. PURE TOURIST TRAP

Real nice suites. Comfortable bed and spacious suite.
I LOVE comps and freebies though; in my blood and will be no matter how much $$$$$$ I have; Wynn not place for that.

Comps and freebies are not a sportsbook reality; and the vast majority of people on this website are ONLY sportsbook people....hence the complaining and misunderstanding.

If this was a craps or blackjack site...even a slots site....you would see far less complaining about comps.

The best advice I can give about sportsbooks is to go there and handle your business and then get out. You should be enough of a technician to have a good idea of what you are wagering on when you enter the establishment.

I see too many people on here playing too many games. 6 and 7 and 8 the first college FB weekend. Are you kidding? Plus then number of lined games was down to the fact that there were FCS/FBS games. Hardly getting a diversity to choose from. Within the next few weeks you're going to see the full schedule with lines at a number a good bit higher than now. Remember, how that one game came up, after you had setbacks, and you thought to yourself, "Why couldn't I have waited for this game?"

That's what is going on now. I am 1-0 for season and am all in on one game this Saturday. Maybe I don't win, but I have a chance to go 2-0. How many are in a position to do that? OK, just be forewarned to be picky.

If you want to have a good time, find a sportsbook where there is a guy or some guys mouthin' off about a pick on a game coming up. Then spend the day betting against "those guys".
