I guess this question can be answered by anyone, was hoping for some input from the man known as VegasGourmet as well.
Looking to go down around the beginning of Sept and staying possibly through the end of October. Just want to get the F away from Washington for a bit and gamble on football.
Any help is appreciated. Don't want something rundown, and don't need anything swanky either. I have a buddy that claims Wyndham has a property like this next to HardRock.

On Sahara they have $500 monthly rentals. It's probably a studio and your standard things. I have no actual name for the complex, but it's near the strip, and doesn't look too bad.
Siegel Suites Las Vegas. You can go to their website. It use to be around $185 a week. Includes internet access.
There is a place by the Hard Rock and I believe it's around the same price Siegel Suites charges.

Like I said, I don't need anything swanky. Just want somewhere to rest my head, I'll be at the books the majority of the time anyway...or partying with friends.
My buddy I referred to, is at a place right around the corner from Hard Rock. Says it's part of the Wyndham Desert Resort, but this is the for weekly/monthly rentals.
Siegel looks decent and near the Stratosphere which is close enough walk to the Wynn. If you remember the name of the Sahara joint, let me know. Thanks!!

The Sahara is close to the Statosphere near the bridge going over the HWY. You'd be able to find it, but I won't be back in town until the end of the month, and it's not walking distance to the strip.
Siegel is all over the place. The one by the Stratosphere possibly falls into your "Don't want something rundown" and the area around the Statosphere is kind of shady.

The walk from Siegel on Tropicana will get old quick. However, the bus ride is $2 one way, $5 for a 24hr pass, and $60 for a month. I suggest staying at that Siegel and budget for a bus pass.

There are a bunch of motels between Sahara and the Stratasphere.I use to stay at FunCity just across LVBlvd from WorldsLargestGiftShop. You're right at the corner of LasVegasBlvd and Sahara, there are buses, taxies, and you can walk to the Wynn. It's 500 a month cable, maid,no bugs,on the strip, and the neighborhood is colorful. That neighborhood is called NakedCity because there's a million stories there. When you turn out the lights at night its just as dark as a suite anywhere. You aren't going to get mugged on LasVegasBlvd.I have a high tolerance for run-down.

My biggest knock about Siegel Suites is the poor internet they have. I stayed there twice during the past and the internet has always been an issue. One of the times I had no internet in my building. If intend to go out to Vegas to bet on sports you're obviously going to need a reliable internet because going to McDonalds or another source for free Wi-Fi will get old quick.
