Hi guys.. awesome trip.. got back a couple days ago but came home sick cause of lack of sleep. so its been delayed.
left the 13th from Detroit. arrived in vegas at 930. stayed at the imperial palace. wore my "I love hot moms" t-shirt case any other covers members were hangin there or oshay's that night.
only thing on our minds were poker and more poker. went with 1 buddy no wives/gf's.
played 1-2 nl at inmperial for a couple hours till a tourney at the golden nugget started at 1am. lost 40.
played the 65 buy in at 1am and i won it.. with my buddy goin heads up vs me. (pics on my facebook)
then took a cab back to imperial at about 6am. played 1-2 again and hit a monster...
i had 5-5
flop j-7-5
hit trips and checked a guy bets 30 into a pot of bout 16.
2 peeps call including myself.
turn is a 2.
buddy bets 40, call then i raise to 80. went call call.
river a 5!!
hit quads... guy bet i went ai and i got 2 callers.
guy had jj and the other 77. thought for sure it was an online hand.. i took a monster pot and also got 75 for a highhand bonus. after that hand i went for a TIMEOUT. 2 hour nap.

after my nap went and played 1-2 next door at harrah's after a few hours of 1-2 nl. i was up bout 80 bucks. i swore that if i wasnt playing 1-2 nl i was sitting beside bobby clarke. i said to my buddy once this guy sat down. "hey larry, who does this guy look like"? larry had no guess. I said bobby clarke. and the guy said that hes been told that many times. but he said he wasn't i sore it was. but it looked like his teeth were real. bobby has all fake teeth. for my old man's bday card i put a few bucks on the giants winning the superbowl at 16-1. good laughs. The teller guy saaked if i was from jersey. i told them the story about the b'day card they had a chuckle.

back over to goldne nugget for another oturney.. my buddy split 3-ways i finished on the bubble. was a 100 bill buy-in. we were splitting everything we won so it was still ok. played slots everywhere thru the vaca and hit a whopping 153.50 on a penny machine playing .40 at a time. was fun. good time killer when larry was in a tourney still and i was out. he hit 4-5 tourneys and i did better in the cashgames but over all he did way better. enough about poker. other things i did. ate at ellis island every night. awesome awesome steak dinners. cheap as hell also. like 25 bucks and thats with tip.

backing up a bit.... while playing cash game at binnions. (really classy poker room.. awesome comfy chairs) a guy hits a pot for almost 400 playing 1-2. (also i am always chatting it up at the tables, asking where people are from and wierd facts about canada just conversating and enjoying myself) anyways. he hits a 2 outter on the river for almost 400 and i said better throw the dealer at least one of those red chips ($5) he gives the dealer $1. i said man you gotta tip bigger then that. he says he doesnt believing in tipping more then $1 no matter what the size of the pot is. I said are you crazy! one buck you won. 400 he goes on to try and justify that its ok to tip a buck. a few at the table are annoyed by his bs reasoning and tell him that they live for their tips. he goes on to saying that he understands cause he is a waiter ( he was from wisconsin), we sarcastically laughed at him cause its like slapping his own kind in the face.

back to the other items we did. ate at a place called the hashhouse (i think) im the imperial palace. service was slow as heck... portions were rediclious. burger was a full pound. no offense to america but if these are the portions no wonder there is obesity. (hey im bigger too). rated that place a C. ate at ellis island A+++. amaing food and rediclious prices. i was giving bigger and bigger tips everytime i went back. a steak lunch was 6.95 and it came with a beer. larry has been to vegas a bunch of times so he knew where the best spots were. Also stopped at the pawnshop where the show "pawnstars" is located. met Chumlee and had a pic with him. (ill make it my avatar for a while) the old man is as cranky in person as he is in the show. and |Rob the owner drives a bentley. had like 16-19 hours sleep in 5 days so that why i havent reported earlier i was sick for a few days. but it was worth it. if i remember anything wlse ill put it down here also..
hope u enjoyed the read.

Thinking of staying at the Imperial Palace, how was it?
The Imperial Palace is shit. I've said before "bring a pillow" because the ones they provide are terrible, but the location is amazing, and you can still have a wonderful time. I'll stay there again and have done so numerous times during the past.
The parking sucks, the elevators suck, but it's just a place to put your head at night.

only gripe i have is calling the guy out for his $1 tip, i think you were a bit out of line there
its his decision how to spend his money, you probably put him in an uncomfortable situation
if he tips $5 every time he wins a $400 pot, does he get that back whenever he loses a $400 pot? lol
im not trying to be an ass, i enjoyed your trip report...but youd be surprised how much tipping cuts into your winrate, especially when some rooms rake a shit load of rake

Funny you mention how tipping cuts into your win rate. Between the cocktail waitresses, valet, and cabbies I easily spend a couple hundred bucks every trip.

If you play poker to win $ then you dont tip $5 every time you win a pot.
If youre playing poker to "be cool" and "act baller" then you tip $5 every time you win a pot cuz it makes you look cool
When the dealer deals the 2 outer against you does he throw you $5??? Is it my fault his employer expects ME to pay their salary?
No and NO
Thats why I feel tippping is PURELY a personal decision. Im already paying a ridiculous amount in rake to play live, now I have to give out MORE money cuz I won a hand???? no thx
