I read somewhere about a "long haul",,,,,,, if the cab driver takes you "through the tunnell" or a certain long way, you can get their id # and refuse to pay until you talk to the taxi cab authority. This will result in scaring the crap out of the cab driver and a free ride or they will take a reduced rate. I have never done this,,, but someone out their might know?? I read about this in the twoplustwo dot com forum, in the las vegas section. good luck

from what i read, you probably wont have to wait for the taxi cab authority,,, the cab driver does not want the taxi cab authority called or involved.

Kovall for the strip and Paradise for dtown I think.
Supposedly the cabbies are required to ask you now about which airport exit to take.My guy asked Freeway ok? (Tunnel)
But I was going to the Rio so it's faster and quicker.
Have a great trip man.

The most cost effective and efficient route from the aiport to the downtown area is as follows: Upon exiting airport, have driver go to Tropicana Ave.(about 3-5 min., do NOT USE INTERSTATE 215). At Tropicana go left (west) to Interstate 15 N. Exit Interstate 15 at downtown exits...you will pass these exits before you see the DOWNTOWN exit: Flamingo Rd., Spring Mtn. Rd., Sahara Rd., Charleston Blvd.
Any other route, especially using the out of the way I 215, is a rip!

- this is what i always do. And I always have them stop at a few stores to pick up some snacks and drinks. Easy - safe- and relatively cheap.
