I lived there for a while great place especially if you ski. Great for betting, easy in and out parking nothing like fucking around with the strip in Vegas. Downtown is nothing to write home about but like I said you can park in a garage a sky walk to the book while your car doesnt get snowed on or hot in the summer. Atlantis and Peppermill are next to each other or close and are as good as any of the Vegas casinos and as big. Peppermills book is awesome. l The Nugget in Sparks is a nice casino and first class big strong drinks they dont mess around there. Grand Seirras a little different feel to it and on its own in an isolated location next to the highway but like the Nugget its an upscale looking place.
Good city.
If you want to get up into the mountains try and find the emerald pools. They are a series of waterfalls down the truckee river with cliffs you can jump off.

I forgot exactly where it was but found some directions for all.
take highway 80 then exit to 20 and take Bowman Lake Road until you get to a small parking lot. go a litttle past there and go overthe side of the road. you will probably see 2 grave crosses. hike down from? there until you get to the the river. then go downstream and you will find the cliffs. basicaly once you get to the parking lot ask someone for directions if this is to confusing
