Quick jaunt (Apr 9th-12th) at first time stay at PH. With the better half so kept it pretty calm.
Southwest flight out of Orlando delayed and had to change planes after boarding so didn't arrive until 11:00PM so Saturday night was a write-off .
PH - $20 trick gets an upgrade to the Fantasy Island room. Tattoo's suit in a shadow box. Nice big room with view of the fountains.
A good breakfast @ Mon Ami Gabi on the patio. Flippin' freezing this AM but still a great spot to watch the Sat night crowd stumble back to their hotel(s).
Watched Sunday Masters @ Bellagio sportsbook. Hard to believe but it seemd like everyone in the place but I was cheering for the Stripped One (??). Exciting Sunday back 9.
In and Out for dinner. I had read reviews that this was a great burger joint and a must do so I did it. My impression is save your time. Maybe OK for the price but taste-wise not in my top 5.
Back to PH for some dice. Icy cold and get my lunch and dinner handed to me.
Monday, drive to Hoover Dam and Valley of Fire. I have been to LV 20+ times and never made this trip. I was supposed to golf but was injured so thought what the heck. The new bridge (Hoover Dam Bypass) is quite impressive also and has a great view of the dam.
Dinner @ Rosemary's. As always a great meal, awesome service. A must do if you have never eaten there.
Back to PH and head over to Paris to throw the bones. Catch a 1 hour roll and make up for the previous day ++. 1 hour roll would likely have been 45 minutes if the dealers really had a clue what they were doing. Possibly the worst table I have ever been at. Maybe Monday night is trainee night.
PH is a little too loud for my taste and seems to be a good spot for a younger clientele (I'm 50). Long walk from the parking lot to the rooms. The casino layout was a bit confusing (for an oldtimer ) Room was good and the view certainly adds to the experience.
Hopefully back to LV in the fall!!

I rarely play the tables when I am able to get back home, but some of the dealers are really beautiful, and are friendly for the most part. I mainly go to PH to eat. Overall, I completely understand why people would want to stay there.

I like PH.

Stopped for breakfast on way to Dam but I would guess the drive is about 45 minutes non-stop from Planet Hollywood. After the Dam we cut north to get to the Valley of Fire. That drive was probably a little over an hour to the entrance of the Valley of Fire park.

Yes I did rent a car.

did you rent a car to get to hoover dam? how long was the drive??
car rental is the best way to go--book in advance as much as possible for best rates and to be certain they will have a car for you- cool ride thru the nevada desert down to laughlin is another neat option for fun--(about an hour or so from boulder city) )

in n out might be the most overrated place of all time.
of course, people on the west coast have no idea what a good burger is, so they have to rep what they got.
so what are the good burgers they recently added in lv stak and shake and five guys burgers....etc... of all the fast food burgers, steak and shake was real good but the sirloin steak cheeseburger at jack and the box was excellent
