you're doing it the wrong way round leg, you should get the job before a place especially with unemployment at 14% in vegas area, hardly the hotbed for IT either.

damn i live in the US for 15 years and the last place I want to go and live be Vegas for the food and houses are so cheap now. Even if the u/e rate is so high, I am sure that you can find something to begin with. I am moving there in 3 months. I should not have trouble finding a job because I am driving a truck.

highest unemplotment in the country and no signs of it changing soon.highest foreclosure of homes to and there is great value if you want to buy a home and now is the time for that .but as stated here you better get that JOB first.

My son works in IT as well and had moved to Vegas for a year, and during that time, the only IT work he could find was contract work 30-60 days only, nothing permanent, and that was 3 years ago, and I hate to see what it is now. He finally gave up after a year. Nice place to live in Summerlin, but I am there 6-7 times a year for work (legal) and one week for March madness, and between the gang activity and other problems with the economy there, I wouldn't recommend moving there until you have a job, unless you have enough cash to last you for 6-7 months for basics without any additional seed money for gambling.
