March Madness Question

Looking to book a trip out for MM this year. I've never been for the tourny before but have heard great things about how much of a party it is.

I see on ESPN that the games are scheduled for Thurs March 17 and Sat March 19. Does this mean there are no games on Friday?

What's the best way to schedule this trip? I'm coming from SoCal so it'll only be a 2-3 nighter. No More than 3 for sure- too dangerous!

Also, when do the games typically begin/finish for the day?

I'm speaking of the opening round. That's when all the excitement is, right? And the all-day marathon of games?

games will be played on friday too.16 games on thursday and friday and 8 on sat and sun.

Are you sure it's not 16 games on Thursday, 16 games on Friday and round 2 games on Sat & Sun?

Third Round: March 24-25, 2011

Fourth Round: March 26-27, 2011

I usually do two nights so it sounds like it'll be a good plan to arrive the morning of 3/17 and depart anytime on 3/19. Thurs-Sat.

Either that or just do a typical weekend of Fri-Sun. Sounds like games will be in full force no matter what I choose.

My preference would be to be sitting in the front row at the sportsbook at Mandalay Bay on the 17th by 7am....with by coffee and bagel, list of bets, and fully rested.

Sounds like a plan! Except I'll likely be replacing the coffee with a huge ass mimosa!

Games will start shortly after 9am LV time, with the final games ending sometime near 9pm LV time. 

We went to the Hilton Theater last year and it was a ton of fun, I'd recommend trying that one day.
