Good afternoon Covers,
Hoping you can help me out with some expert advice...
My fiance and I had a trip scheduled at the MGM Grand from 3/27-30 for our Honey Moon.
We arrived at MGM, checked-in w/ no problem (they sent up a bottle of Champagne without us saying a word regarding the situation) and we headed to our room with an amazing view. We changed out of our "airport clothes" and headed down to the bars/casino & thats where the problem's began...
Not one place would accept my ID. We're from Wisconsin and the state is issuing new ID's. Not ONE place would accept my ID in the place.
We talked to EVERYBODY, and nobody was helpful one bit. The last person I ended up talking to was a punk named Caesar at the front desk; he was manager of managers or something along those lines. At first Caesar seemed to be genuine and very helpful. He left us for about 5 minutes and came back with "great news." He told us that he'd just been on the phone with their sister hotel, the Excalibur,'s head of security and that a wrist band was waiting for me. He even gave me his card to give to HOS. We went over there (this was the second time we had been directed to the Excalibur) and HOS had no idea what I was talking about.
We headed back to MGM Grand and wanted to see Caesar. He came out with this shit-eating grin on his face, knowing that he punked us. We had decided we had enough and my wife informed him that we'd be checking out immediately. He told us our card would only be charged for one night & that the security deposit and remaining nights would be taken off. We asked for a this promise in writing also - which he was reluctant to do, but finally wrote up. However, he refused to to sign his name, which I found suspicious.
A few hours later after we had found a flight back home, packed everything back up and were about to head out my wife wanted to double check that our card had not been charged as we had come not to trust Caesar one bit. The gentleman at the front desk at the time - I wish I had looked at his name badge - was extremely kind and the only understanding person we had crossed in our short stay. He informed us that the card had been charged, but he promptly reimbursed the charges before we headed out.
This was our first trip to Vegas and more importantly our Honey Moon - just looking for a little advice on what to do from here? I'd much rather be in LV right now chilling in 80* weather than back in Milwaukee. Help us out Covers!
