We're at Rio a few years back during March Madness and UConn is playing Washington. One of my buddies has a large bet on UConn and they're not playing well at all....he starts taking shots and gets pretty bent.
Long story short, he sees that his bet is going to lose and he crumbles his ticket with about 3:30 left in the game. He leaves our table at the sky bar and goes off playing roulette. I picked up his ticket solely because it was for 3300 to win 3000 and I thought I could use it for my taxes as a big losing ticket. UConn comes through in OT and ends up pushing the -6. I waited til 30 minutes before we had to leave on Monday to catch our flight and show him the ticket....best part of the story, he says "yeah I know, they didn't cover." I walk over the the book and get his $3300 back, I waited until we got back home and gave it to him at the baggage claim....HE nearly shit his pants cuz he got drilled while in Vegas. We still laugh every time we see UConn on TV.
