going down in early june(how hot is it going to be out there?), any recommendations on courses. good value($100 or under)/nice layouts.

help please

It will be plenty hot. You'll want to play in the mornings if you can, but afternoons offer much better rates. Twilight at alot of Vegas course starts at 9 or 10 in the morning because it gets so hot in the afternoons. Wolf Creek is the most amazing course I personally have ever played but it is about an hours' drive north. Locally I would recommend Badlands, Revere, any of the Paiute courses. Silverstone wasn't bad. I think Bali Hai is overpriced and overrated. Same with Desert Pines. Royal Links is a fun course if you're a British Open fan.

It was well worth the hour drive. Like you, it was the best course i have ever played.

Revere has two courses...check the slope ratings....very well maintained because it is part of a 55+ community built by Del Webb....It was the #1 Troon course a few years back...

we are going the1st weekend in june, many of the courses don't even list their rates for the summer, i assume it's cheaper....any ideas why?

Most courses won't let you book more than 60 days in advance, I never really understood their reasoning on that one, but it will be cheaper than any rates they might display right now. It pays to check several different websites as well as the sites for each individual course when booking because sometimes they run specials you might not find somewhere else. For example, last year on Silverstones website if you booked specifically on their site you got golf, breakfast and a sleeve of pro v 1's for 89 bucks.

way to hot for me at that time of year, but vegas national is a fun course. close to the strip, so cab ride wont set you back a ton, tiger woods got his 1st win there. also the course on the movie casino. it is a wide open course, not to challenging, we always have fun there

i'll be drunk at the end of these rounds, getting home? cab the best or shuttle, or rent a car and get a designated driver?

Play course to a 100 rounds a year in vegas every year for past 10 years (lucky that way I guess)

Wolfcreek is worth the drive but don't let anyone tell you it is an hour. MORE LIKE an hour and 45 for the drive. AND it is EVERY bit of a 6 hour round of golf if you are luck, just make sure you plan accordingly. Definetly worth it but it is a hike

Paiute easily best bang for the buck but it is also a hike if you aren't driving yourself, I would HIGHLY recomend having your own car. Paiute is a way out for a cab. ALSO the Snow course at Paiute is every bit as nice as Wolf and frankly I prefer the SNOW course. Consider as a potential option

If you want a great track in town reasonably priced REVERE at ANTHEM Lexington course is amazing with great views of the strip. For a couple extra bucks consider Rio Secco, some of the fastest greens you will find anywhere in town.

Another great option is Primm which is about 45 minutes south of town. 2 great courses Fazio tracks I think.

HAVE A GREAT TIME, heading out myself in the next few days for a 10 days golf binge. ALWAYS A BLAST

if you are playing wolf creek which i would again recommend the only way is renting a car. it may not be an hour but unless you drive like your 80 years old you can get there in under and half and half. i went 90 the whole way and made it in 1:20 i believe.

also, i would get out as early as you can to try and get there before the crowds because like refer said it is long round because all the sight seeing and picturing taking people do but it is well worth it. they have coolers filled with ice on every cart so that helps as well. here is a link to the pictures i took when i played...
