Kind of off on a tangent, but one of the funnest times I ever had in Nevada was watching a baseball game at the GSR in Reno. It was a Cubs day game (11:15 local start time?). No other sports action (except ponies) was happening and I was sitting near a bunch of old-timers. Some were local...some were tourists like me. Anyway, by the 9th inning, we were all drunk and having a great time with our new "friends".
I still find it interesting that the allure of gambling can bring strangers together...even if it was only for 1 game.
