If you bet baseball and like to bet runlines, totals, or reverse runlines.....please remember:
You will ALWAYS get the listed pitchers as part of your bet. If either pitcher does NOT start the game, your bet is cancelled.
I have seen many bettors who thought that they knew what they were doing tear up tickets that they thought were losers, only to find out later that the bet was a refund. Typically, it happens when someone takes the runline, wins by one run only and does not check that the opposing pitcher did not start the game. Most bettors only focus on the team/starting pitcher that they took and not the opponent's starting pitcher.
To a lesser extent, I have seen that also with total bettors....
The board in the sportsbook always puts REF on the gameline; but 99% of all bettors never look there for the results. So the tickets end up as unclaimed...and more $$$ for the book.

Yea, "stoopers" would bend over and pick up tickets looking for winners...especially if there was a disqualification in a race. Every grandstand had them.....especially Aqueduct Racetrack.
