I would like to get into futures/options trading with a few hours of sit down 1 on 1 teaching preferably using a site like optionsxpress (been practicing there).
Who could I ask (a student in finance, a broker?) that would do it for a fee of course (maybe 50$ a hours?) ?
I have been reading up on it and practicing with a virtual account but I still have 1 million questions features I am not comfortable with.
Thanks

Go bug a teachers assistant at university in the finance dept. They are broke and can use the money. They can help you with theory but most can't trade their way out of a paper bag. But getting a handle on the basics sounds like what you need to get your confidence higher.

Thanks dime, I have been reading up on trading in my spare time and buggin the optionxpress workers a bunch (they are so patient, its unreal!!)
I am also playing around with a virtual account and started the registration process.
I am mostly interested in gold futures as I think gold will hit easily hit 2k by the end of the year.
Optionxpress also offers a live phone broker to put in trades so that would probably be better for me to start off.
I am just mad that I could not have amy account set up last week when gold hit that mini crash. Gold is up over 100$ since but there is plenty of time to make $$$,
Buy low, sell high
Peace
Thanks

I recommend you read a book by William O'Neil followed by a subscription to Investors Business Daily. Just a thought. I could help you with any questions regarding CANSLIM investing.

Thx cave but I am just goin with a "slow, long term " approche to gold futures contract. I now understand the concept of trading futures and the " how to".
I am not really trying to break the bank with my trading, just trying to make a couple of bucks in profits.
I bought 1 position @1807 and looking to buy 1 or 2 more as the price seems to dip a little ,maybe around the 1750ish and 1710ish),if they ever get there :)
After I am just goin to sit on them as long as it takes and wait for 1830ish + to come around.
As I said in my other posts these are micro gold futures and I can afford to sit around and wait without to much stress.
Thanks again and gl

I actually closed my Gold and Silver positions today ... I think the prospects of Gold and Silver are good, however in the near term ... as the long as the dollar remains a safe haven due to the Euro Zone crash ... gold will come under pressure. Itz not a 100% safe haven in the near term ... just look at it in 2008 during the market meltdown ... I personally think there are better plays during this market correction ... at least in the very near term. Reallocating money to where it generates the most is my focal point. Not saying Gold sucks ... cause over the intermediate future ... i think itz still solid ... just not this next few weeks... thatz all!!!
